Greetings friends.
Over a year ago, after many adventurous years of raising our amazing 6 children, we were in a place of transition. Filled with deep gratitude, attuned to so many needs for prayer, we found ourselves praying, “Lord, we are so grateful! And we know you want to do even more in and through us. Where are you inviting us?”
We weren’t interested in a big-box pilgrimage. We wanted to be with people who were also feeling a divine tug—an invitation to a very meaningful time of greater encounter, renewal, clarity, and strength. I had such an experience in 1991, on the tenth anniversary of the (purported) apparitions in Medjugorje. So much to say there, but for another time.
Our first call was to Fr. John Anthony Boughton. Knowing he would be extraordinarily busy with his new role as head of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, he was our first-round draft choice. We invited him.
Miracle #1: Amidst an extraordinarily busy schedule, he was available that exact span of time and responded enthusiastically, “YES.”
Miracle #2: Arrow Osborne—a very devout Catholic with whom we attend weekday Mass and who regards Medjugorje as his second home—approached us and asked if we ever considered a pilgrimage there. He is very connected and leads a number of pilgrimages every year.
So we were off. We extended the invite to a number of other Catholic couples, and eight of them got on board almost immediately.
Bottom line: If this resonates with you as a couple and you feel the tug, we would be delighted to welcome 6 more couples.
The Details:
Dates: July 6 – July 15 (Departing just after our nation’s 250th Anniversary).
Cost: $2,660 per couple (excluding airfare).
Travel: There is room in our group-rate flying out of Detroit ($1,300/person).
Deadline: We would like to secure our total pilgrimage crew by next Friday, March 6.
