This week on Live IT Today, Greg and Stephanie take up one of the most challenging questions in the Christian life: What happens when truth must be spoken and live in a culture—or even within institutions entrusted with the Gospel—where silence would be safer?
At the center of the episode is a powerful story from Stephanie’s freshman year at Gannon University. Asked to represent the student body on a public panel discussing whether the university was truly Catholic, she found herself wrestling with a difficult choice: remain comfortable and accepted, or speak difficult truths in front of priests, faculty, administrators, and peers. Encouraged by a holy priest who reminded her simply to “be bold,” she chose integrity over approval and discovered the freedom that comes from bringing hidden things into the light.
The Kingdom is not advanced by officiousness, image management, bureaucracy, or the preservation of positions of influence. It is advanced by men and women on mission—ordinary disciples willing to live and proclaim the truth regardless of personal cost.
The conversation becomes a passionate call to leaders at every level—parents, pastors, educators, business leaders, public officials, and every baptized Christian—to examine whether we are truly living what we profess. Jesus’ strongest words were often directed toward those in positions of religious authority who failed to embody the truths they proclaimed. At the same time, His heart was always drawn toward the anawim—the poor in spirit, those who knew their need for God and sought Him sincerely.
At the heart of IT all is God’s reminder: We Image the Trinity.
That’s the IT.
