GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Look at the works I am doing and know that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | John 10:31–42
The Jews picked up rocks to stone Jesus.
Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father.
For which of these are you trying to stone me?”
The Jews answered him,
“We are not stoning you for a good work but for blasphemy.
You, a man, are making yourself God.”
Jesus answered them,
“Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, ‘You are gods”‘?
If it calls them gods to whom the word of God came,
and Scripture cannot be set aside,
can you say that the one
whom the Father has consecrated and sent into the world
blasphemes because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?
If I do not perform my Father’s works, do not believe me;
but if I perform them, even if you do not believe me,
believe the works, so that you may realize and understand
that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”
Then they tried again to arrest him;
but he escaped from their power.
He went back across the Jordan
to the place where John first baptized, and there he remained.
Many came to him and said,
“John performed no sign,
but everything John said about this man was true.”
And many there began to believe in him.

GOING DEEPER
The works of Jesus reveal His divine identity—and invite us into living union with God.
When you look at the works of Jesus in your life, do you recognize God actively present?
In this Gospel, tension reaches a breaking point. The crowd is no longer just questioning Jesus—they are ready to stone Him. Why? Because they understand what He is claiming. He is not merely a teacher or prophet. He is revealing Himself as one with the Father.
Jesus responds by pointing to His works. The Greek word used here, erga, refers not just to actions but to divine activity—works that reveal God’s presence. Healing the sick, restoring sight, raising the dead—these are not random miracles. They are signs pointing to who He is.
Jesus makes a bold appeal: “Believe the works.” Even if they struggle to accept His words, the evidence is before them. The works themselves testify that “the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” This is one of the clearest expressions of the unity within the Trinity.
Yet the crowd resists. This reveals a sobering truth: it is possible to witness God’s work and still refuse to believe. The obstacle is not lack of evidence—it is often hardness of heart.
At the end of the passage, we see a different response. Away from the hostility of Jerusalem, people remember the testimony of John the Baptist. They connect the truth they heard with the works they now see—and they believe.
This dynamic is alive in our own lives. God is constantly at work—in answered prayers, quiet graces, moments of conversion, acts of love and mercy. The question is whether we recognize His hand.
In family life, the works of God often appear in simple but powerful ways. A healed relationship. A child growing in virtue. A moment of unexpected peace. These are not small things. They are signs of God’s presence at work within the domestic church.
Parents are uniquely positioned to help their children see these signs. When we name God’s work aloud—when we point out His presence—we train our families to live with spiritual awareness and gratitude.
Parents, this Gospel calls you to open your eyes and lead your home in faith. Reflect on the works God is already doing in your family. Speak them. Celebrate them. Build a culture of recognition and thanksgiving. And pray over your children by name, asking the Holy Spirit to help them see and believe. The same God who revealed Himself through His works in the Gospel is actively at work in your home today.
“God reveals himself and communicates himself to man in his infinite goodness.” (CCC 50)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Where have I seen God at work in my life recently, and have I acknowledged it?
In My Home: How can we become more aware of and grateful for God’s work in our family?
In My World: How can I help others recognize the presence of God in their lives?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one way each person has seen God at work in their life.
Then pray together as a family. Parents, place your hands gently on each person and pray over them by name. Ask the Holy Spirit to open their eyes to recognize God’s presence. Renounce any blindness or lies of the Enemy that hide God’s goodness. Pray for strength to follow Christ, courage to live the Gospel, and joy in walking with Him daily.
Daily Challenge: As a family, name three specific ways you saw God at work today and thank Him together.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
