GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Do not let your heart be troubled—I am your way, your truth, and your life, and I am leading you home
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | John 14:1-6
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be.
Where I am going you know the way.”
Thomas said to him,
“Master, we do not know where you are going;
how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
Peace is found not in knowing the path, but in trusting the Person.
What is troubling your heart right now—and are you trying to solve it, or surrender it to Jesus?
Jesus speaks these words on the night before His Passion. Everything is about to unravel—confusion, fear, scattering. And yet His first command is not strategic—it is spiritual: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” The Greek word tarassō means to be stirred up, agitated, shaken to the core. Jesus is addressing the inner storm before the external crisis.
And His answer is not a roadmap—it is Himself. “I am the way and the truth and the life.” Not a way among many. Not a philosophy. A Person. In a world obsessed with options, optimization, and self-direction, Jesus offers something radically different: union, not independence. “The way is not a route—it is a relationship.”
Thomas voices what we all feel: “We do not know… how can we know?” It is the honest cry of uncertainty. And Jesus doesn’t rebuke him—He reveals more deeply. The answer to confusion is not more information, but greater intimacy.
Here is where today’s memorial becomes powerful. Saint Joseph the Worker lived this Gospel without full clarity. He did not have a detailed plan—only a call. And yet he walked the way because he stayed close to the One who is the Way. His workshop became a sanctuary because his heart was anchored in trust.
This speaks directly into our homes. How often do we feel the weight of providing, protecting, guiding—especially as parents? The pressure to “figure it all out” can be overwhelming. But Jesus does not ask us to map the future. He asks us to follow Him faithfully today.
And notice the promise: “I go to prepare a place for you.” The word for “dwelling places” (monai) implies abiding, permanence, belonging. Heaven is not just a destination—it is a home prepared with intention and love. That means our earthly homes are meant to reflect that same reality: places of peace, purpose, and presence.
When anxiety enters—about our children, our work, our future—we must return to this truth: we are not wandering aimlessly. We are being led personally. “Troubled hearts trust trails; transformed hearts trust the Guide.”
Today, choose trust over turmoil. Parents, lead your families not with fear, but with faith. Build homes where Jesus is known as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Pray over your children by name. Invite His peace into your decisions. And walk forward—not because you see the whole path, but because you know the One who leads.
“Jesus said: ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me’ (Jn 14:6). Jesus is the unique mediator between God and men.” (CCC 480)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: What is currently troubling my heart, and how can I entrust it more fully to Jesus?
In My Home: How can we more intentionally create a home rooted in peace and trust in Christ?
In My World: Where is Jesus calling me to follow Him more closely, even without full clarity?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around … share one thing that has been causing worry or stress.
Then pray together as a family. Lay hands on each person and pray over them by name:
“Jesus, You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Lead [Name] today. Calm every troubled place in their heart. Replace fear with trust, confusion with clarity, and anxiety with peace. Give them courage to follow You and joy in knowing they are never alone.”
Pray for a deep awareness of God’s love, freedom from fear and uncertainty, strength to trust Him in all things, and a joyful willingness to follow wherever He leads.
Daily Challenge: When anxiety arises today, pause and say: “Jesus, You are the Way—I trust You to lead me.”

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
