INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Mark 6:53-56
After making the crossing to the other side of the sea,
Jesus and his disciples came to land at Gennesaret
and tied up there.
As they were leaving the boat, people immediately recognized him.
They scurried about the surrounding country
and began to bring in the sick on mats
to wherever they heard he was.
Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered,
they laid the sick in the marketplaces
and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak;
and as many as touched it were healed.

GOING DEEPER
When faith dares to reach for Jesus, ordinary places become channels of divine power.
The people of Gennesaret recognize Jesus immediately, and everything changes. There is no hesitation, no committee, no caution. They move with urgency because they know that proximity to Him matters. Faith here is active, embodied, and unembarrassed.
They beg to touch the tassel of His cloak. The Greek word kraspedon refers to the fringe worn in obedience to Numbers 15, meant to remind Israel of the commandments and their covenant identity. Touching the tassel is an act of remembered belonging—reaching for the God who keeps His promises.
The Gospel is careful to note where this happens: in marketplaces. These are noisy, exposed, everyday spaces. Jesus allows His healing power to flow not in controlled environments, but in the midst of ordinary life. Grace meets people where life is lived.
This speaks directly to family life. Our homes are busy, imperfect, and often loud. Yet they are precisely the places where Christ desires to pass by. The Enemy whispers that holiness requires ideal circumstances. The Gospel reveals that holiness begins with trust in the middle of the mess.
There is also a profound humility in the crowd’s faith. They do not demand understanding or assurance. They reach. Faith does not need a stage—it only needs a touch. When parents live this posture of trust, children learn that God is near, attentive, and active in real life.
Build saint-forming homes by intentionally bringing Jesus into the ordinary rhythms of family life, pray over your children by name with expectant faith, and act decisively in the power of the Holy Spirit, trusting that when your family reaches for Christ together, His healing power will flow.
“Jesus accompanies his words with many ‘mighty works and wonders and signs’, which manifest that the Kingdom is present in him.” (CCC 1507)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Where am I being invited to reach out to Jesus with greater trust today?
In My Home: How can our family more intentionally invite Christ into the ordinary spaces of daily life?
In My World: Who needs to be carried by faith into the presence of Jesus through my actions?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one place in your life where you want Jesus to draw closer.
Then pray together aloud. As parents, place a hand on each person and pray over them by name, asking that they come to know God’s love personally, be freed from every lie of the Enemy, be strengthened to overcome temptation, and be filled with joy to live the Gospel concretely this week.
Daily Challenge: Choose one ordinary family moment today and intentionally invite Jesus into it with a simple spoken prayer.

LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.
