GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Afraid to come closer? Jesus has no intention of turning you away.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | John 6:37-40
Jesus said to the crowds:
“Everything that the Father gives me will come to me,
and I will not reject anyone who comes to me,
because I came down from heaven not to do my own will
but the will of the one who sent me.
And this is the will of the one who sent me,
that I should not lose anything of what he gave me,
but that I should raise it on the last day.
For this is the will of my Father,
that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him
may have eternal life,
and I shall raise him on the last day.”

GOING DEEPER
The love that welcomes us to Jesus today opens our lives toward the resurrection He promises.
What grief, shame, or fear makes it difficult for you to entrust yourself—or someone you love—to Jesus?
On All Souls’ Day, we remember people whose absence has become part of our daily lives. We may still reach for the phone, anticipate a familiar voice, or feel the ache of something left unsaid. The Church gives that love a prayerful expression: we commend the faithful departed to God’s mercy and pray for their purification and entrance into the fullness of heaven. Grief can become intercession, even when words come slowly.
Listen to the movement of this Gospel: the Father gives, the Son receives, and Jesus promises to raise those who believe in Him. His welcome and the resurrection belong within the same saving purpose. Eternal life reaches beyond survival after death into the life God shares with us through His Son. The One to whom we bring our dead is also the One who calls us into communion with Him now.
Yet we can hesitate at the threshold of that relationship. We know our inconsistencies, remember our failures, and wonder whether approaching God will expose more than we can bear. Jesus’ promise gives us reason to come honestly. Repentance can begin with confidence in His mercy. In Confession, we bring Him the sins we cannot undo ourselves and receive the forgiveness He has entrusted to His Church. Shame need not have the final word.
His promise also gives hope a foundation when we cannot resolve every question about someone who has died. We entrust them to the Lord who knows their whole life, including what remained hidden from us. We pray, arrange Masses for them, and offer acts of charity in their memory. Our prayers matter because our communion in Christ reaches beyond death. Love still has something to do.
For us as parents, the home is the domestic church, where children learn how Christians mourn and hope. We can speak the names of those who have died, share a grateful memory, and pray for them together. We can allow tears without suggesting that faith should make loss painless. At the family table, a remembered story can become a prayer; at Mass, our sorrow can be placed within Christ’s self-offering. We learn to carry our grief in His presence.
Build saint-forming homes by nurturing a living hope in Christ’s victory over death; pray over your spouse and children by name, asking that each grow in trusting communion with Him; act in the power of the Holy Spirit by praying for your deceased loved ones and taking one concrete step toward the reconciliation or conversion you should not postpone.
“We can therefore hope in the glory of heaven promised by God to those who love him and do his will.” (CCC 1821)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: What keeps me from bringing my whole self, including my grief and failures, into Jesus’ welcoming presence?
In My Home: How can we remember our deceased loved ones in a way that joins gratitude, honest sorrow, and prayer?
In My World: Who is grieving and could receive comfort through my attentive presence today?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around … invite each person to name someone who has died and share a memory or a reason for gratitude. Then pray together: “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.”
Then pray over each person by name: “Lord Jesus, help [Name] personally know Your faithful love. Free them from the Enemy’s lies that they are unwanted, beyond forgiveness, or alone in their sorrow. Strengthen them to overcome temptation and return to You whenever they fall. Holy Spirit, fill them with joyful hope and help them live the Gospel through prayer, reconciliation, and compassionate care for those who mourn. Amen.”
Daily Challenge: Pray by name for a deceased loved one and arrange a Mass intention or make a plan to visit their grave.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
