New Easter episode drops Saturday, April 4!

EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
The Cross reveals the full cost of love—and calls for a total response.
What part of my life am I still holding back from Jesus?
This is not simply a story. It is the center of reality.
Every voice in this Gospel forces a decision. Pilate knows the truth but chooses convenience. The crowd chooses Barabbas. The leaders choose control. The soldiers choose mockery. Even the passersby choose indifference.
And Jesus chooses the Cross.
Notice what is most striking: He does not defend Himself. He does not argue. He does not escape. The silence of Jesus before Pilate is not weakness—it is surrender. The Greek root behind His “giving up his spirit” (paredōken to pneuma) conveys a deliberate handing over. This is not taken from Him. He gives it.
Love, at its deepest level, is self-gift.
Even His cry—“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”—is not despair, but the opening line of Psalm 22, a psalm that ends in victory. Jesus enters fully into human suffering, even the feeling of abandonment, so that no one is ever alone in it again.
Then the veil is torn.
This is no small detail. The veil separated the Holy of Holies—the dwelling place of God—from the people. Its tearing “from top to bottom” signifies that God Himself has opened the way. Access is no longer restricted. Through the Cross, communion is restored.
And who sees it first? Not the religious elite—but a Roman centurion. A hardened soldier recognizes what others could not: “Truly, this was the Son of God.”
This is the turning point of history—and the turning point of every life.
In our homes, the Cross must not remain abstract. It must become personal. The question is not simply “What did Jesus do?” but “How do I respond?”
Parents, this is the heart of our mission. We are not raising children to admire Jesus from a distance. We are forming disciples who will follow Him in sacrificial love.
That begins with us.
Let your children see a faith that costs something. Forgiveness when it’s hard. Patience when you’re tired. Love when it’s inconvenient. This is how the Cross becomes visible.
And today, more than ever, pray over your children by name. Claim them for Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to root them in the truth of the Cross—that they are loved, redeemed, and called to give their lives in return.
Jesus held nothing back.
Now He invites you to do the same.
“By his obedience unto death, Jesus accomplished the substitution of the suffering Servant.” (CCC 615)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: What am I still holding back from God?
In My Home: How can we more fully live sacrificial love in our family?
In My World: Where is God calling me to take up my cross more intentionally?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one way each person can more fully give themselves in love this week.
Then pray together as a family. Parents, place your hands gently on each person and pray over them by name. Ask the Holy Spirit to give them courage to follow Jesus, even when it is difficult. Renounce any fear, selfishness, or resistance to the Cross. Pray for strength, perseverance, and deep trust in God’s love.
Daily Challenge: Make one concrete sacrifice today—offer it quietly to Jesus in love.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
