This week, we feature the Easter Gospel, five powerful insights to help you step into glory, the witness of St. Gemma Galgani, and a deeply moving testimony by Joe Orth of healing and restoration through surrender.
GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Do not be afraid—I have conquered death and I am drawing you into new life.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Matthew 28:1–10
After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning,
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
And behold, there was a great earthquake;
for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven,
approached, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.
His appearance was like lightning
and his clothing was white as snow.
The guards were shaken with fear of him
and became like dead men.
Then the angel said to the women in reply,
“Do not be afraid!
I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified.
He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said.
Come and see the place where he lay.
Then go quickly and tell his disciples,
‘He has been raised from the dead,
and he is going before you to Galilee;
there you will see him.’
Behold, I have told you.”
Then they went away quickly from the tomb,
fearful yet overjoyed,
and ran to announce this to his disciples.
And behold, Jesus met them on their way and greeted them.
They approached, embraced his feet, and did him homage.
Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid.
Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee,
and there they will see me.”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
Holy Saturday teaches us to trust God even in the silence before resurrection.
Where in my life am I waiting, uncertain, or in between what was and what will be?
Holy Saturday is the quietest day in the entire liturgical year. The Cross has happened. The Resurrection has not yet been fully revealed. It is a day suspended between grief and glory.
And yet, today’s Gospel gives us a glimpse of what is breaking forth.
The women come at dawn. They are not coming with certainty—they are coming with love. They expect a sealed tomb, a lifeless body, an ending. Instead, they encounter an earthquake, an angel, and an empty grave.
The angel’s message is clear: “He is not here… He has been raised.”
But notice the movement. “Come and see… then go quickly and tell.” Faith always follows this pattern—encounter, then mission.
The women leave “fearful yet overjoyed.” The Greek captures this tension—phobos (awe-filled fear) and chara megale (great joy). This is the reality of encountering God. It shakes us—and fills us.
Then comes the most personal moment: Jesus meets them on the way.
This is essential. They do not remain frozen at the tomb. They move forward in obedience—and in that movement, they meet the risen Christ.
Holy Saturday speaks directly into our lives.
There are seasons where God feels silent. Prayers seem unanswered. Situations remain unresolved. We stand between what we hoped for and what has not yet come.
But God is not absent.
He is working in hidden ways, preparing resurrection where we only see waiting.
Family life is full of these moments. Parents carry concerns, unanswered questions, hopes for their children that are still unfolding. It can feel like a long Holy Saturday.
But this day teaches us: remain faithful in the waiting.
Parents, today is a call to quiet trust. Stay near to Jesus even when you cannot see clearly. Continue to love, to pray, to hope.
And especially today, pray over your children by name. Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen them in seasons of uncertainty, to root them in hope, and to prepare their hearts for the new life God is bringing.
The tomb is not the end.
Resurrection is already on the way.
“Hope is the theological virtue by which we desire the kingdom of heaven and eternal life as our happiness.” (CCC 1817)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Where am I being called to trust God in a season of waiting or uncertainty?
In My Home: How can we support one another in faith during difficult or unclear times?
In My World: Who might need encouragement to hold onto hope right now?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one area where each person is waiting on God.
Then pray together as a family. Parents, place your hands gently on each person and pray over them by name. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill them with hope and trust. Renounce any fear, discouragement, or doubt planted by the Enemy. Pray for patience, perseverance, and confidence that God is working even now.
Daily Challenge: Spend a few quiet minutes together in silence, entrusting your family’s hopes and concerns to God.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
