GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Do not seek to be seen or exalted; serve in My love, and I will raise you up in My time.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Matthew 23:1-12
Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying,
“The scribes and the Pharisees
have taken their seat on the chair of Moses.
Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you,
but do not follow their example.
For they preach but they do not practice.
They tie up heavy burdens hard to carry
and lay them on people’s shoulders,
but they will not lift a finger to move them.
All their works are performed to be seen.
They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
They love places of honor at banquets, seats of honor in synagogues,
greetings in marketplaces, and the salutation ‘Rabbi.’
As for you, do not be called ‘Rabbi.’
You have but one teacher, and you are all brothers.
Call no one on earth your father;
you have but one Father in heaven.
Do not be called ‘Master’;
you have but one master, the Christ.
The greatest among you must be your servant.
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled;
but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
The greatest person in the room is not the one most admired, but the one most willing to serve in love.
Where might your desire to be noticed, appreciated, or affirmed be quietly competing with the call to serve?
Jesus does not reject the teaching office of the scribes and Pharisees; He tells the people to observe what accords with the law they teach. But He exposes the deadly disconnect between words and life: “They preach but they do not practice.” God is not impressed by religious performance that never becomes humble love.
The phylacteries and tassels Jesus names were visible reminders of God’s law. They were good in themselves. The problem was using sacred signs as props for self-importance. It is possible to pray, serve, lead, post, speak, and even defend the faith while secretly seeking the praise that belongs to God alone.
The Greek word behind “servant,” diakonos, points to one who waits upon and attends to another’s need. This is Christ’s definition of greatness. Not leverage. Not recognition. Not having the final word. Greatness is moving toward the burden, lifting it with another, and giving oneself without needing applause.
That lesson begins in the domestic church. We can easily make family life about being obeyed, appreciated, or regarded as indispensable. But our children learn the Gospel when they see us wash the dish nobody wants to wash, listen patiently when we are tired, apologize when we are wrong, and serve without announcing our sacrifice. Integrity is not merely teaching the right thing; it is becoming a living witness to it.
Today we honor the Queenship of Mary. Her queenship is unlike the world’s grasping for power. She calls herself the handmaid of the Lord. Because she receives everything as gift and magnifies God rather than herself, she is exalted as Queen of Heaven and earth. In Mary, humility does not diminish dignity; it opens the heart to the glory of God.
The Enemy tells us that humility means being small, overlooked, or powerless. Jesus reveals that humility is truth: God is God, we are His beloved children, and every gift is meant for love. Stop striving to be important. Start striving to be faithful. The humble heart becomes a home where Christ Himself is seen.
Build saint-forming homes; pray over your children by name; act in the power of the Holy Spirit by choosing one unnoticed act of service today.
In all of his life Jesus presents himself as our model. He is “the perfect man”, who invites us to become his disciples and follow him. In humbling himself, he has given us an example to imitate, through his prayer he draws us to pray, and by his poverty he calls us to accept freely the privation and persecutions that may come our way. LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Where am I tempted to seek recognition rather than simply serve in love?
In My Home: What burden can I help carry today without resentment or announcement?
In My World: How can I use my influence or gifts to lift another person rather than elevate myself?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around … name one simple way someone in your family serves others that might ordinarily go unnoticed.
Then pray over each person by name. Ask that each know personally the Father’s delight, be freed from every lie of the Enemy that says worth depends on attention or praise, receive strength to overcome temptation, and be filled with joyful courage to serve Jesus in humble, concrete love.
Daily Challenge: Do one necessary act of service today anonymously, without mentioning it to anyone.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
