GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY

INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Matthew 17:14-20
A man came up to Jesus, knelt down before him, and said,
“Lord, have pity on my son, who is a lunatic and suffers severely;
often he falls into fire, and often into water.
I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him.”
Jesus said in reply,
“O faithless and perverse generation, how long will I be with you?
How long will I endure you?
Bring the boy here to me.”
Jesus rebuked him and the demon came out of him,
and from that hour the boy was cured.
Then the disciples approached Jesus in private and said,
“Why could we not drive it out?”
He said to them, “Because of your little faith.
Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you will say to this mountain,
‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you.”

GOING DEEPER
Small faith placed in the great God is never small.
Where in your life or home have you quietly concluded, “Nothing can change here”?
The father in today’s Gospel does not arrive with polished answers or spiritual strength. He kneels. He brings his suffering son directly to Jesus. That posture is the beginning of faith: not pretending that we can manage what is breaking us, but bringing it to the One who can.
When the disciples ask why they could not drive out the demon, Jesus speaks of their “little faith.” The Greek word, oligopistia, does not mean they possessed no faith at all; it suggests faith that has become thin, hesitant, and divided. We know that struggle. We pray, yet worry keeps rehearsing its worst predictions. We ask God to act, yet live as though everything finally rests on our own capacity.
Jesus does not tell them they need a mountain-sized supply of faith. He points instead to a mustard seed: something tiny, alive, and entrusted to the soil. The issue is not the volume of our faith, but the object of it. A mustard seed in the hand of God is stronger than a mountain of self-reliance. Faith does not deny the mountain; faith brings the mountain under the authority of Christ.
This is especially vital in the domestic church. We may look at a child’s anger, anxiety, drifting, secret temptation, wounded friendship, or growing distance from the Lord and feel overwhelmed. In marriage, we may carry hurts that have calcified into silence. Yet Jesus still says, “Bring the boy here to me.” Bring the child. Bring the marriage. Bring the fear. Bring the impossible conversation. Bring it to Him together.
Today’s memorial gives us Saint Dominic, whose life was marked by prayer, preaching, and confidence in the truth of the Gospel. He did not meet a confused and fractured world by withdrawing from it. He entered it with charity, clarity, and a heart set on Jesus. Our homes need that same holy steadiness: not panic, not passivity, but parents and grandparents who pray, speak truth, and refuse to surrender their loved ones to the Enemy’s lies.
The Enemy whispers, “This is too far gone.” Jesus says, “Bring it to Me.” Despair isolates; faith kneels. Fear freezes; faith brings. Faithfulness begins when we stop measuring the problem by our power and start measuring it by His.
Build saint-forming homes; pray over your children by name; act in the power of the Holy Spirit, bringing every mountain in your family to Jesus with mustard-seed faith.
Only faith can embrace the mysterious ways of God’s almighty power. This faith glories in its weaknesses in order to draw to itself Christ’s power. The Virgin Mary is the supreme model of this faith, for she believed that “nothing will be impossible with God”, and was able to magnify the Lord: “For he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.” (CCC, 273)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: What “mountain” have I been measuring by my weakness rather than by God’s power?
In My Home: What person or situation in our household do we need to bring afresh to Jesus together?
In My World: Where is the Holy Spirit inviting me to respond to discouragement with prayerful, courageous action?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around … share one area of life where you need to trust Jesus more deeply.
Then pray over each person by name. Ask the Father to let each one know personally His faithful love; renounce every lie of the Enemy that says they are alone, trapped, unloved, or beyond help; ask for strength to overcome temptation; and pray for the grace to live one concrete part of today’s Gospel with joy and courage.
Daily Challenge: Identify one “mountain” in your home, name it before Jesus, and take one faithful step toward Him together today.

LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.
