Behold the Lamb—My Son stands before you to take away your sin and give you new life.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | John 1:29–34
John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and said,
"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
He is the one of whom I said,
'A man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me
because he existed before me.'
I did not know him,
but the reason why I came baptizing with water
was that he might be made known to Israel."
John testified further, saying,
"I saw the Spirit come down like a dove from the sky
and remain upon him.
I did not know him,
but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,
'On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain,
he is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.'
Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God."
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
God reveals His Son not through spectacle, but through faithful witness.
John the Baptist does not point to himself. He points away. His entire identity is distilled into a single, world-altering sentence: “Behold, the Lamb of God.” In that moment, centuries of sacrifice, longing, and prophecy converge. The lamb is no longer an offering—we are invited to behold a Person.
John’s humility is striking. He admits he did not fully recognize Jesus at first. Recognition came through obedience. By faithfully baptizing, by remaining attentive to the Spirit, John was given sight. God reveals Himself not to those who grasp for certainty, but to those who stay faithful to their calling.
The Spirit descending and remaining upon Jesus marks Him unmistakably as the Son. This is not a passing sign. The Spirit abides. God’s revelation is stable, trustworthy, and enduring—unlike the shifting affirmations of the world.
This Gospel presses directly into our daily lives. Faith is not about drawing attention to ourselves, our opinions, or our achievements. It is about becoming credible witnesses—men and women whose lives quietly, clearly say: Look to Him.
In the domestic church, this witness is lived most powerfully. Children learn who Jesus is not primarily through explanations, but through parents who point beyond themselves—through forgiveness practiced, truth spoken gently, and repentance lived openly.
We parents are called to John’s posture: humility before God, fidelity to our vocation, and courage to name Jesus plainly. We build saint-forming homes when we decrease so Christ may increase, praying over our children by name and trusting the Spirit to reveal the Son to them in His time.
“St. John the Baptist is the Lord’s immediate precursor or forerunner, sent to prepare his way.” (CCC 523)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Where might God be inviting me to point more clearly to Christ rather than to myself?
In My Home: How can our family give clearer witness to who Jesus is through daily choices?
In My World: Who is God asking me to invite—by word or example—to behold the Lamb?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one way each person has seen God at work this week.
Then, one by one, pray over each person by name, asking for an outpouring of grace to know God’s love personally, freedom from the whispers and lies of the Enemy, strength to overcome temptation, and joyful courage to live the Gospel concretely each day.
Daily Challenge:
Choose one intentional way today to point someone—especially within your home—toward Jesus by your words or actions.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
