GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
You do not need to carry tomorrow before it arrives. I know your needs, I am with you today, and I will faithfully provide what you need for the journey.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Matthew 6:24-34
Jesus said to his disciples:
"No one can serve two masters.
He will either hate one and love the other,
or be devoted to one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and mammon.
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life,
what you will eat or drink,
or about your body, what you will wear.
Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds in the sky;
they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns,
yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are not you more important than they?
Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span?
Why are you anxious about clothes?
Learn from the way the wild flowers grow.
They do not work or spin.
But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor
was clothed like one of them.
If God so clothes the grass of the field,
which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow,
will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith?
So do not worry and say, 'What are we to eat?'
or 'What are we to drink?' or 'What are we to wear?'
All these things the pagans seek.
Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given you besides.
Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself.
Sufficient for a day is its own evil."
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
Worry is often the attempt to control a future that belongs to God.
What concern, uncertainty, or burden most frequently occupies your thoughts these days?
Jesus speaks directly to one of humanity’s most common struggles: anxiety about the future. We worry about finances, health, relationships, children, aging parents, careers, politics, the economy, and countless unknowns. We tell ourselves that if we think about our problems long enough, perhaps we can somehow gain control over them. Yet Jesus asks a piercing question: “Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span?”
The answer is obvious. Worry feels productive, but rarely is. It drains today’s strength while offering no guarantee about tomorrow. Jesus is not teaching irresponsibility or passivity. He is not suggesting that we ignore responsibilities or fail to plan wisely. Rather, He is inviting us to place our trust in the Father instead of carrying burdens He never intended us to bear alone.
Notice where Jesus directs our attention. Not to spreadsheets, forecasts, or worst-case scenarios, but to birds and flowers. The birds do not anxiously store away every possible provision. The flowers do not strive to create their own beauty. Both simply receive what the Father provides. Creation itself becomes a living lesson in trust.
At the heart of anxiety is often a deeper spiritual struggle. We can begin to believe that everything depends on us. We feel responsible for outcomes beyond our control. We carry tomorrow’s crosses before God has supplied tomorrow’s grace. Yet Jesus reminds us that our heavenly Father already knows what we need. The One who created us has not forgotten us.
The key verse of today’s Gospel is not “Do not worry.” It is “Seek first the Kingdom of God.” Freedom from anxiety is not achieved by trying harder not to worry. It comes from fixing our attention on something greater. When God’s Kingdom becomes our highest priority, everything else finds its proper place. The circumstances may not change immediately, but our perspective does.
This lesson is especially important within family life. Parents and grandparents often carry enormous concern for those they love. Many spend sleepless nights worrying about children, finances, health issues, relationships, and the future. Yet the Father loves those family members even more than we do. Build saint-forming homes by bringing your worries to God together. Pray over your spouse and children by name. Call daily upon the Holy Spirit. Teach your family that trust is not pretending problems do not exist—it is believing God is greater than them.
Jesus does not promise a life free from challenges. He promises a Father who remains faithful through them all. Seek first His Kingdom today. Tomorrow can wait.
“Trustful surrender to divine providence is necessary, and the anxiety provoked by concern for tomorrow is contrary to this trust.” (CCC 2115)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: What worry am I carrying that God may be inviting me to surrender to Him?
In My Home: How can our family grow in greater trust and less anxiety about the future?
In My World: How can I become a witness of peace and confidence in God’s providence?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one worry or concern you would like to place in God’s hands.
Then pray over each person by name. Ask the Lord to replace anxiety with trust, fear with faith, and discouragement with hope. Pray that they know God’s loving provision, reject the Enemy’s lies, and walk confidently in the Father’s care.
Daily Challenge: Every time you catch yourself worrying today, pause and pray: “Father, I trust You with this.”
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING

In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
