GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
I am gathering My people into one through the sacrifice of My Son—trust My plan even when you cannot yet see it.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | John 11:45–56
Many of the Jews who had come to Mary
and seen what Jesus had done began to believe in him.
But some of them went to the Pharisees
and told them what Jesus had done.
So the chief priests and the Pharisees
convened the Sanhedrin and said,
“What are we going to do?
This man is performing many signs.
If we leave him alone, all will believe in him,
and the Romans will come
and take away both our land and our nation.”
But one of them, Caiaphas,
who was high priest that year, said to them,
“You know nothing,
nor do you consider that it is better for you
that one man should die instead of the people,
so that the whole nation may not perish.”
He did not say this on his own,
but since he was high priest for that year,
he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation,
and not only for the nation,
but also to gather into one the dispersed children of God.
So from that day on they planned to kill him.
So Jesus no longer walked about in public among the Jews,
but he left for the region near the desert,
to a town called Ephraim,
and there he remained with his disciples.
Now the Passover of the Jews was near,
and many went up from the country to Jerusalem
before Passover to purify themselves.
They looked for Jesus and said to one another
as they were in the temple area, “What do you think?
That he will not come to the feast?”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
God can use even opposition and fear to accomplish His plan of salvation.
Where in my life might fear or control be resisting what God is doing?
This Gospel reveals a profound paradox. Jesus raises Lazarus—a miracle so undeniable that many believe. Yet instead of surrender, others respond with fear. The leaders are not asking, “Is this from God?” but “What will this cost us?”
Their concern is not truth, but control. “The Romans will come and take away our place and our nation.” Beneath this is a deeper fear: losing power, status, and security.
Then Caiaphas speaks words that are both politically calculated and prophetically true: “It is better that one man should die instead of the people.” He intends expediency. God intends redemption.
Here we see divine providence at work. Even in the midst of plotting and sin, God is orchestrating salvation. The Greek idea underlying this moment reflects oikonomia—God’s ordered plan of salvation history unfolding through real human decisions, even broken ones.
This is essential for us to grasp. God’s will is not thwarted by human resistance. He weaves even rebellion into a greater story of redemption. The Cross itself—the greatest injustice—is also the greatest act of love.
In family life, this truth is deeply consoling. There are moments when things feel out of control—conflict, misunderstanding, fear about the future. We may be tempted to grasp for control rather than trust.
But God is at work, even there.
Parents, this Gospel calls you to lead with trust in divine providence. Where there is tension, invite God in. Where there is fear, surrender it. Where there is uncertainty, speak faith.
Do not let fear dictate your decisions. Let trust in God’s plan guide your home.
And most importantly, pray over your spouse and children by name. Ask the Holy Spirit to guard them from fear, to free them from the need to control, and to root them in confidence that God is working all things for their good. Even what seems uncertain is being woven into something redemptive.
Jesus is moving steadily toward the Cross—and through it, toward resurrection. The same is true in your life.
“In everything God works for good with those who love him.” (CCC 313)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Where is fear causing me to resist trusting God’s plan?
In My Home: How can we bring more trust and surrender into our family life?
In My World: How can I witness to others that God is at work even in difficult situations?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one area where each person is struggling to trust God.
Then pray together as a family. Parents, place your hands gently on each person and pray over them by name. Ask the Holy Spirit to replace fear with trust. Renounce any lies of the Enemy that lead to anxiety or control. Pray for peace, courage, and deep confidence in God’s providence.
Daily Challenge: When a moment of stress or fear arises today, pause as a family and say together, “Jesus, we trust in You.”
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING

In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
