GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father—trust Me and ask in My Name, and I will act
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | John 14:7-14
Jesus said to his disciples:
“If you know me, then you will also know my Father.
From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said to Jesus,
“Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time
and you still do not know me, Philip?
Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.
How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?
The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own.
The Father who dwells in me is doing his works.
Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me,
or else, believe because of the works themselves.
Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever believes in me will do the works that I do,
and will do greater ones than these,
because I am going to the Father.
And whatever you ask in my name, I will do,
so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
To know Jesus is to encounter the Father—and to live with power.
Are you still asking God to show Himself—when He already has in Jesus?
Philip’s request is deeply human: “Show us the Father, and that will be enough.” We want clarity, certainty, something unmistakable. And yet Jesus’ response is almost startling: “Have I been with you so long… and you still do not know me?” The issue is not absence of revelation, but failure to recognize it.
Jesus reveals a profound mystery: “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” The Greek verb horaō (to see) implies not just physical sight, but perception with understanding. To truly see Jesus—to grasp His heart, His actions, His words—is to encounter God Himself. There is no hidden God behind Him.
This is why today’s memorial matters so much. Saint Athanasius defended this exact truth against massive opposition: that Jesus is fully God, not a lesser reflection. The phrase homoousios—“of the same substance”—was his battleground. Why does this matter? Because if Jesus is not fully God, then He cannot fully reveal the Father or fully save us.
And here is the staggering promise: “Whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these.” This is not exaggeration—it is mission. Through the Holy Spirit, the life of Christ extends into the world through us. The same divine life that flowed through Him now flows through His Body.
But there is a condition: “in my name.” In the ancient world, a name (onoma) represented authority, identity, and mission. To ask in Jesus’ Name is not to attach words to a prayer—it is to align our lives with His will. “Powerful prayer flows from personal participation.”
This has profound implications for our homes. Imagine a family that truly believes this—that when we pray in Jesus’ Name, heaven moves. That our words, aligned with Him, carry authority. That our homes are not just places of routine, but arenas of divine action.
And yet, how often do we settle for passive faith? We admire Jesus instead of acting in Him. We hope vaguely instead of praying boldly. We wait for change instead of stepping into mission. But Jesus is clear: belief is meant to become embodiment.
Today, move from observation to participation. Parents, this is your call: lead with bold, living faith. Pray with authority. Speak truth with confidence. Pray over your children by name in the Name of Jesus. Invite His power into your home. And trust that through your faithful obedience, God will do far more than you can imagine.
“Jesus Christ is true God and true man, in the unity of his divine person; for this reason he is the one and only mediator between God and men.” (CCC 480)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Do I truly recognize Jesus as the full revelation of the Father, or do I still seek something more?
In My Home: How can we more intentionally pray and act in the Name of Jesus as a family?
In My World: Where is Jesus calling me to step out in faith and participate in His works?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around … share one thing you would boldly ask Jesus to do in your life or family.
Then pray together as a family. Lay hands on each person and pray over them by name:
“Jesus, reveal the Father to [Name]. Let them know You deeply and personally. Increase their faith. Work powerfully in their life. Give them courage to live in Your Name, to trust Your power, and to follow You completely.”
Pray for a deep personal knowledge of God’s love, freedom from doubt and hesitation, strength to act in faith, and joyful confidence in living the Gospel with power.
Daily Challenge: Pray one bold, specific prayer today in Jesus’ Name—and act in faith as if He is already at work.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
