GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Who owns your heart? Your freedom begins with whom you serve.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Luke 16:9-15
Jesus said to his disciples:
“I tell you, make friends for yourselves with dishonest wealth,
so that when it fails, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.
The person who is trustworthy in very small matters
is also trustworthy in great ones;
and the person who is dishonest in very small matters
is also dishonest in great ones.
If, therefore, you are not trustworthy with dishonest wealth,
who will trust you with true wealth?
If you are not trustworthy with what belongs to another,
who will give you what is yours?
No servant can serve two masters.
He will either hate one and love the other,
or be devoted to one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and mammon.”
The Pharisees, who loved money,
heard all these things and sneered at him.
And he said to them,
“You justify yourselves in the sight of others,
but God knows your hearts;
for what is of human esteem is an abomination in the sight of God.”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
A heart entrusted to God learns to use its possessions without surrendering its freedom to them.
What has the power to disturb your peace because you have begun relying on it to provide what only God can give?
Jesus speaks about money, trustworthiness, and the heart. His words reach into the ordinary decisions through which our loyalties become visible. We can sincerely profess that God comes first while allowing financial security, social standing, or a desired purchase to govern our attention. The question deserves an honest hearing: when these concerns press upon us, whose direction do we actually follow?
Notice the reversal in Jesus’ language: material wealth is something entrusted to us, while He speaks of a greater wealth we have yet to receive. What we instinctively call ours becomes a responsibility through which faithfulness is practiced. His instruction about making friends directs our resources toward persons and an eternal horizon. Possessions find their proper use when they serve the good of those God loves.
The small matters make this concrete. An accurate expense claim, a promise kept, borrowed property returned with care: these choices train us to live truthfully. We can dismiss a little dishonesty because the amount seems insignificant, overlooking what we are permitting within ourselves. Integrity grows through repeated consent to the good. Small choices teach the heart whom to obey.
Yet freedom requires more than stricter financial habits. We need communion with the Father whose love can reach the fear beneath our grasping. We were made by Him and for Him; through Christ, we are invited to participate in His life. Bring Him the anxiety attached to your account balance, the comparison awakened by someone else’s success, or the resentment beneath your reluctance to give. Prayer opens these places to grace, and the sacraments nourish the life from which genuine generosity grows.
For us as parents, the home is the domestic church, where our children learn what deserves trust. We can discuss money responsibly without allowing it to become the atmosphere everyone breathes. We can acknowledge a financial mistake, resist a purchase that would strain the household, and include generosity within our planning. We can also protect time with our spouse and children from the continual demand to earn or acquire more. Our use of resources can express confidence in God while honoring the responsibilities He has entrusted to us.
Build saint-forming homes by practicing honesty, gratitude, and generous stewardship in ordinary matters; pray over your spouse and children by name, asking that their hearts belong freely and wholly to God; act in the power of the Holy Spirit by correcting one small compromise and placing one resource deliberately at the service of love.
“The more one does what is good, the freer one becomes.” (CCC 1733)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: What financial concern or desire most readily takes command of my thoughts and choices?
In My Home: What are our everyday decisions teaching our children about honesty, generosity, and security?
In My World: Where could I handle something entrusted to me with greater integrity or care?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around … invite each person to name a small responsibility others trust them to fulfill. Discuss how keeping that trust helps everyone.
Then pray over each person by name: “Father, help [Name] personally know the security of Your love. Free them from the Enemy’s lies that possessions determine their worth or that dishonesty is harmless when no one notices. Strengthen them to overcome temptation, especially greed, comparison, and making excuses. Holy Spirit, give them joy in living the Gospel through honest choices, grateful hearts, and generous care for others. Amen.”
Daily Challenge: Put one small matter right today: return what you borrowed, keep an overdue promise, or correct an inaccurate statement.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
