GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Do not only speak My Name. Dig down to rock. I will hold your house when the river rises.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Luke 6:43-49
Jesus said to his disciples:
“A good tree does not bear rotten fruit,
nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit.
For every tree is known by its own fruit.
For people do not pick figs from thornbushes,
nor do they gather grapes from brambles.
A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good,
but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil;
for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ but not do what I command?
I will show you what someone is like who comes to me,
listens to my words, and acts on them.
That one is like a man building a house,
who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock;
when the flood came, the river burst against that house
but could not shake it because it had been well built.
But the one who listens and does not act
is like a person who built a house on the ground
without a foundation.
When the river burst against it,
it collapsed at once and was completely destroyed.”

GOING DEEPER
A house is not proven by the name on the door. It is proven when the river hits.
Where have we called Jesus “Lord” while leaving His words unbuilt into the floor of our home?
Jesus joins two images that a family cannot evade: the tree and the house. Fruit does not lie. The mouth tells what the heart has stored. Then He presses further. It is possible to say “Lord, Lord” and still build on dirt. Hearing without acting is not a lesser form of faith. It is a house with no foundation, waiting for the first real flood.
The flood will come. It comes as a diagnosis, a betrayal, a child’s rebellion, a financial shock, a long fatigue. In that hour no one is saved by religious vocabulary. The house stands if someone has dug—repentance, obedience, daily prayer, the costly yes that no one applauded.
On this Memorial of the Most Holy Name of Mary, the Church lingers over a name that was never decoration. Mary did not merely admire the Word. She received it, carried it, and let it become flesh in the hidden life of a home. To speak her name is to remember a woman whose whole house was founded on “let it be done.” That is the pattern for every domestic church: not more speech about Jesus, but a foundation laid where no one sees.
Parents, build saint-forming homes. Pray over your spouse and children by name. Act in the power of the Holy Spirit by doing one command of Jesus today that you have only been repeating.
“The gift of faith remains in one who has not sinned against it. But ‘faith apart from works is dead’: when it is deprived of hope and love, faith does not fully unite the believer to Christ and does not make him a living member of his Body.” (CCC 1815)

Make some time today to gather together and, going around …
Name one command of Jesus your family needs to do, not only discuss. Then pray over your spouse and each person by name, asking the Father to deepen their personal knowledge of His love, free them from every lie of the Enemy, strengthen them against temptation, and fill them with joyful, concrete living of the Gospel.

Choose one word of Jesus you already know—and obey it in a visible way before nightfall.

LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.
