As we step into the power of Easter, we proclaim a life-altering truth: resurrection is already unfolding—even where it still feels dark. This week, we feature the Easter Gospel, five powerful insights to help you step into glory, the witness of St. Gemma Galgani, and a deeply moving testimony by Joe Orth of healing and restoration through surrender. A new episode drops every Saturday, setting up the journey for the following week.
GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Do not be afraid—I have risen, and I am bringing you into new life.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Matthew 28:1–10
After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning,
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
And behold, there was a great earthquake;
for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven,
approached, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.
His appearance was like lightning
and his clothing was white as snow.
The guards were shaken with fear of him
and became like dead men.
Then the angel said to the women in reply,
“Do not be afraid!
I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified.
He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said.
Come and see the place where he lay.
Then go quickly and tell his disciples,
‘He has been raised from the dead,
and he is going before you to Galilee;
there you will see him.’
Behold, I have told you.”
Then they went away quickly from the tomb,
fearful yet overjoyed,
and ran to announce this to his disciples.
And behold, Jesus met them on their way and greeted them.
They approached, embraced his feet, and did him homage.
Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid.
Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee,
and there they will see me.”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
The Resurrection changes everything—fear gives way to joy, death to life, and despair to mission.
Where in my life is Jesus inviting me to move from fear into resurrection joy?
The Gospel begins in darkness—“as the first day of the week was dawning.” This is not just a time reference. It signals a new creation. Just as light broke into the world at the beginning of Genesis, light now breaks into the world again through the Resurrection.
The women come expecting death. They come to a sealed tomb. But instead, they encounter an earthquake, an angel, and an empty grave. The stone is not rolled away so Jesus can get out—it is rolled away so they can see.
The angel’s words echo through the ages: “Do not be afraid.” Fear is the first thing God addresses when He reveals His power. Fear paralyzes. Resurrection sends.
Notice the emotional reality of the women: “fearful yet overjoyed.” This is the paradox of encountering God. Awe and joy, trembling and hope, all at once. Real faith is not sterile—it is alive, dynamic, and deeply human.
Then something even more profound happens—Jesus meets them on the way.
This is key. They do not remain at the tomb. They move in obedience, and in that movement, they encounter the risen Lord. Resurrection is not something we observe from a distance. It is something we step into.
They fall at His feet. They cling to Him. And then He sends them: “Go tell my brothers.” The first witnesses of the Resurrection are sent on mission.
This is the pattern for all of us.
In family life, the Resurrection must become more than a celebration—it must become a way of living. Fear does not get the final word. Failure does not define us. Sin is not the end of the story.
Christ is alive—and that changes everything.
Parents, this is the day to proclaim life in your home. Speak it. Celebrate it. Live it. Let your children see that your faith is not rooted in obligation, but in victory.
Where there has been discouragement, speak hope. Where there has been tension, choose reconciliation. Where there has been fear, declare trust in the risen Christ.
And today especially, pray over your children by name with resurrection faith. Ask the Holy Spirit to awaken their hearts, to fill them with joy, and to root them in the unshakable truth that Jesus is alive.
The tomb is empty.
And your family is called to live in that reality.
“The Resurrection of Jesus is the crowning truth of our faith in Christ.” (CCC 638)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Where is Jesus inviting me to embrace new life instead of fear or discouragement?
In My Home: How can we celebrate and live the joy of the Resurrection as a family?
In My World: Who needs to hear the message of hope and new life that Christ brings?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one reason each person has for joy and hope because Jesus is alive.
Then pray together as a family. Parents, place your hands gently on each person and pray over them by name. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill them with resurrection joy and unshakable faith. Renounce any fear, discouragement, or lies from the Enemy. Pray for strength to live boldly, love freely, and follow Jesus with confidence.
Daily Challenge: Celebrate the Resurrection together in a visible way—share joy, express gratitude, and proclaim that Jesus is alive.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
