GOD'S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
You are not forgotten. You are not forsaken. I see you, I’ve entrusted you, and I am coming. Be ready—your faithfulness will not be in vain.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Luke 12:32–48
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not be afraid any longer, little flock,
for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.
Sell your belongings and give alms.
Provide money bags for yourselves that do not wear out,
an inexhaustible treasure in heaven
that no thief can reach nor moth destroy.
For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.
“Gird your loins and light your lamps
and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding,
ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks.
Blessed are those servants
whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival.
Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself,
have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them.
And should he come in the second or third watch
and find them prepared in this way,
blessed are those servants.
Be sure of this:
if the master of the house had known the hour
when the thief was coming,
he would not have let his house be broken into.
You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect,
the Son of Man will come.”
Then Peter said,
“Lord, is this parable meant for us or for everyone?”
And the Lord replied,
“Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward
whom the master will put in charge of his servants
to distribute the food allowance at the proper time?
Blessed is that servant whom his master on arrival finds doing so.
Truly, I say to you, the master will put the servant
in charge of all his property.
But if that servant says to himself,
‘My master is delayed in coming,’
and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants,
to eat and drink and get drunk,
then that servant’s master will come
on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour
and will punish the servant severely
and assign him a place with the unfaithful.
That servant who knew his master’s will
but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will
shall be beaten severely;
and the servant who was ignorant of his master’s will
but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating
shall be beaten only lightly.
Much will be required of the person entrusted with much,
and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.”

GOING DEEPER
“Gird Your Loins”: The Urgency of Mission
Jesus begins this teaching with tenderness: “Do not be afraid, little flock…” Then He launches into one of the most serious warnings in all of Scripture. The key command? “Gird your loins.”
This phrase, zonynai tas osphys in Greek, comes from ancient custom: before action, soldiers or workers would gather up their long robes and tie them tightly around the waist to move freely and decisively. It meant one thing: Be ready for battle. Be ready to serve. Be ready to go.
This is not a passive waiting. It is a call to vigilant, faithful preparation. Jesus is coming. And every moment between now and then matters.
Notice how sharply Jesus contrasts two kinds of servants:
– One lives as if the Master is always near.
– The other lives as if the Master is far off, irrelevant, or absent.
This is the battle today—in our culture, in our homes, even in our hearts. When we lose sight of His Presence and our eternal identity, we drift into spiritual slumber, numbed by distraction or delay. But Jesus is not vague about His expectations: “Much will be required of the person entrusted with much.”
Parents, this means us. We’ve been entrusted with the eternal souls of our children. Let’s stop living like the Master is far away.
Pray over your family today. Speak aloud the truth: “Jesus is our Lord. Our house belongs to Him. We live for the Kingdom. We await His return.”
Let your children see that your faith is not a Sunday costume—it’s a daily call.
Jesus promises that those He finds vigilant will not only be spared—they’ll be served by the Master Himself. Can you imagine that? The King of Glory, waiting on you. This is what’s at stake.
“By his glorious Cross Christ has won salvation for all men. He redeemed them from the sin that held them in bondage. ‘For freedom Christ has set us free.’ In him we have communion with the truth that makes us free.” (CCC 1741)

Prepared or Distracted?: What are the daily “distractions” that may be dulling your spiritual vigilance?
Treasure Test: Where is your heart truly anchored—heaven or earth? What would someone know by watching how you spend your time?
Steward or Slumbering?: How are you intentionally shepherding those God has entrusted to your care—especially your family?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, invite each person to name one area where they want to grow in faithfulness this week. Then pray aloud over each person by name:
“Lord Jesus, thank You for entrusting [name] to our care. Help them grow in faithfulness, love, and readiness for You. Come reign in our hearts and home. Let us live awake to Your Presence, girded with Your grace. We declare this house belongs to You!”
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
