GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Come to Me. You do not have to carry alone what I have never asked you to bear alone. Lay your burdens before Me, and I will give you My peace.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Matthew 11:25-30
At that time Jesus exclaimed:
"I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to little ones.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him."
"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."

GOING DEEPER
The deepest rest is not found in escaping life’s burdens, but in belonging to the One who carries them with us.
Where have you been striving to prove yourself instead of simply coming to Christ?
Jesus begins by praising the Father for revealing the mysteries of the Kingdom not to “the wise and the learned,” but to “little ones.” He is not condemning education or intelligence. After all, the Church has produced some of history’s greatest thinkers. Rather, Jesus is speaking about disposition. The “little ones” are those humble enough to receive what cannot be achieved through brilliance alone. The greatest truths are not conquered by the intellect; they are welcomed by the heart.
Then comes one of the most tender invitations in all of Scripture: “Come to Me.” Notice that Jesus does not first say, “Come to My teaching,” or “Come to My commandments,” or even “Come to My Church,” though each is essential. He first says, “Come to Me.” Christianity is, before anything else, a living relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ. Every doctrine, every sacrament, every moral teaching exists to draw us more deeply into communion with Him.
Jesus then speaks of taking His “yoke.” To modern ears, a yoke sounds like another burden. Yet a first-century listener would have heard something richer. A yoke joined two animals together so that the stronger one carried the greater weight while guiding the weaker one. Christ is not asking us to shoulder life alone. He is inviting us to be yoked to Him. The burden becomes lighter not because it disappears, but because He bears its greatest weight.
This also reveals something profound about Christian discipleship. The goal is not simply to become stronger, more disciplined, or more capable. It is to become more united with Christ. We often exhaust ourselves trying to carry responsibilities He never intended us to carry by ourselves—our anxieties about the future, our regrets about the past, our need to control every outcome, or our constant desire to prove our worth. The humble heart finally discovers that surrender is not weakness. It is the doorway to peace.
Our world desperately needs this witness. We live amid unprecedented levels of anxiety, loneliness, and exhaustion. Many people are accomplishing more than ever while experiencing less joy than ever. Jesus offers not merely stress management but a new way of living. The soul finds rest not through a lighter schedule, but through deeper communion with the living God.
This begins in the home. Build saint-forming homes where prayer is not another obligation but the place where burdens are laid down together before Christ. Pray over your spouse and children by name. Call daily upon the Holy Spirit. Teach your children that their identity is not earned through achievement but received from the Father who delights in them. The strongest families are not those carrying the least weight, but those most deeply yoked to Christ.
“The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God.” (CCC 27)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: What burden am I still trying to carry without Jesus?
In My Home: How can our family become more intentional about bringing our worries to Christ together?
In My World: Who needs to experience Christ’s peace through my presence and encouragement this week?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Gather together and invite each family member to share one burden they would like the family to pray about this week.
Then pray over each person by name. Ask Jesus to give them His peace, His strength, and the grace to walk closely beside Him in every circumstance.
Daily Challenge: Several times today, slowly pray Jesus’ invitation: “Lord, I come to You.” Then quietly entrust one specific burden into His hands.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
