GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Do not be afraid. You are seen, known, loved, and valued beyond what you can imagine. Walk boldly in the mission I have given you.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Matthew 10:26-33
Jesus said to the Twelve:
"Fear no one.
Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed,
nor secret that will not be known.
What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light;
what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.
And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul;
rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy
both soul and body in Gehenna.
Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin?
Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father's knowledge.
Even all the hairs of your head are counted.
So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Everyone who acknowledges me before others
I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father.
But whoever denies me before others,
I will deny before my heavenly Father."
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
Fear shrinks our lives; trust expands them.
What fear most often prevents you from becoming the person God created you to be?
Three times in today’s Gospel Jesus says some version of the same thing: “Do not be afraid.” Whenever Scripture repeats something, we should pay attention. Jesus knows how easily fear can dominate the human heart. Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Fear of criticism. Fear of loss. Fear of the future. Fear can quietly become the lens through which we make decisions and interpret life.
Jesus is preparing His disciples for mission. He knows they will face opposition, misunderstanding, and hardship. Yet instead of promising an easy road, He offers a greater assurance: the Father is with them. The goal of faith is not the absence of challenges. It is confidence that God remains present within them.
The image of the sparrows is deeply moving. Sparrows were among the least valuable birds sold in the marketplace. Yet Jesus says not one of them falls without the Father’s knowledge. Then He turns to His disciples and says, in effect, “You matter infinitely more.” The point is not simply that God knows about you. It is that He knows you personally. Every joy, struggle, tear, victory, disappointment, and hope is seen by Him.
Many fears are rooted in forgetting our identity. We begin to define ourselves by achievements, failures, opinions, appearances, or circumstances. Jesus reminds us that our deepest identity is found in being beloved sons and daughters of the Father. The One who numbers the hairs on our heads is not distant. He is intimately involved in our lives.
The Lord also calls His disciples to courage. “What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light.” Faith is not meant to remain hidden. The Gospel is a gift to be shared. Every Christian is called to witness—not necessarily from a pulpit, but through daily words, actions, choices, and relationships that point others toward Christ.
This message is especially important for families. Children learn courage by watching courageous adults. They learn trust by observing trust. Build saint-forming homes by speaking openly about God’s faithfulness, praying over your spouse and children by name, and calling daily upon the Holy Spirit. Teach your family that courage is not the absence of fear but the decision to trust God more than fear.
The saints were not fearless people. They were people who decided that God’s promises were more trustworthy than their anxieties. Jesus offers the same invitation today. Do not be afraid. The Father knows you. The Father loves you. The Father is with you.
“By his revelation, ‘the invisible God, from the fullness of his love, addresses men as his friends and moves among them, in order to invite and receive them into his own company.’” (CCC 142)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: What fear most often limits my trust in God?
In My Home: How can our family grow in greater confidence in God’s love and providence?
In My World: Where might God be calling me to witness more courageously to my faith?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one fear you have overcome or one challenge God helped you face.
Then pray over each person by name. Ask the Lord to replace fear with faith, anxiety with trust, and hesitation with courage. Pray that they know how deeply they are loved by the Father and confidently live the mission God has given them.
Daily Challenge: Take one step today that fear has been discouraging you from taking, and entrust the outcome to God.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
