GOD'S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
You are My disciple. I have loved you so that you may love others — this is how the world will know Me through you.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Come through Mary! Open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire to give so that I may be drawn ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | John 13:31-33a, 34-35
When Judas had left them, Jesus said,
“Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
If God is glorified in him,
God will also glorify him in himself,
and God will glorify him at once.
My children, I will be with you only a little while longer.
I give you a new commandment: love one another.
As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.
This is how all will know that you are my disciples,
if you have love for one another.”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
Do We Really Believe?
In today’s Gospel, we hear Jesus’ “new commandment” — yet it’s as old as the heart of God. “As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.” The Greek word for love here is agapē — a selfless, sacrificial love that seeks the good of the other without condition. It’s the love Christ poured out on the Cross.
Notice the radical nature of Jesus’ call: our love for one another is meant to be the defining mark of discipleship. “This is how all will know that you are my disciples.” Not our titles, not our successes, not even our religious practices — but our love.
For families, this commandment is both a challenge and an incredible invitation. Are we creating homes where love is visible, sacrificial, and forgiving? Are we teaching our children not only to pray for one another but to pray over one another, to speak blessings, to mend wounds quickly, and to love in a way that reveals Jesus? When our homes become workshops of love, they become the most powerful witness to the world around us.
Catechism Connection: CCC 1825 – “Christ died out of love for us, while we were still ‘enemies.’ The Lord asks us to love as he does… to the point of loving even our enemies.”
LIFE APPLICATION
Loving as Christ loves: Where am I being called to love more selflessly today?
Making love visible at home: How can we as a family speak blessings, offer forgiveness, or show practical love this week?
Witnessing to the world: Who outside my home needs to experience the love of Christ through my words or actions?
LIVE IT
As a family or household, choose one way to show love intentionally today — a call, a meal, a word of encouragement — and do it together.
GOING VERTICAL
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. It’s not simply about what God can do for us, but about discovering the sufficiency and power of being attuned to His presence. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
PRAYER
LORD JESUS CHRIST, You made me for Yourself—to know You, to love You, and to live for You now and through all eternity. I believe in You. I seek You. I trust in You. Help me Live IT Today. #LiveITToday

HELP US SLAY GIANTS at http://SlayingGiants.us
"Slaying Giants" is King David's epic fall from grace into being an instrument of salvation told in a way you've never experienced before. Some of the nation’s best-known Christian leaders and authors have called it: "Remarkable," "Brilliant," "Captivating," "Convicting," and "Beautiful." We would be so grateful for your help to beautifully package, publish, and promote this—making it available for free to those who cannot afford a copy. Holy Spirit, come!
