GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Do not let your heart be troubled—I am the Way, and I am leading you into the Father’s house
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | John 14:1-12
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be.
Where I am going you know the way.”
Thomas said to him,
“Master, we do not know where you are going;
how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you know me, then you will also know my Father.
From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said to him,
“Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time
and you still do not know me, Philip?
Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.
How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?
The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own.
The Father who dwells in me is doing his works.
Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me,
or else, believe because of the works themselves.
Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever believes in me will do the works that I do,
and will do greater ones than these,
because I am going to the Father.”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
Troubled hearts are transformed when trust turns to total surrender.
What is stirring anxiety in your heart right now—and have you fully surrendered it to Jesus, or are you still trying to control it?
Jesus speaks directly into the storm: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” The Greek tarassō means shaken, agitated, unsettled. Notice—He does not say trouble won’t come. He commands that it not rule. This is not denial; it is divine authority over the interior life.
And His answer is not a plan—but a Person. “I am the way and the truth and the life.” In a world obsessed with finding “the right path,” Jesus declares that the path is not something we map—it is Someone we follow. “Peace is not found in perfect plans, but in personal proximity.”
Thomas voices our confusion. Philip voices our longing: “Show us the Father.” And Jesus reveals the heart of everything: “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” The invisible God becomes visible in Christ. This is not partial revelation—it is perfect presence.
The Greek word for “dwelling places” is monai—abiding places, permanent homes. Heaven is not temporary relief—it is eternal belonging. And Jesus is not passively waiting there—He is actively preparing a place for you. That means your life is not random. It is relationally directed.
And then comes the stunning expansion: “Whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these.” This is not about comparison—it is about continuation. Through the Holy Spirit, Christ’s work extends through His people. The mission of Jesus becomes the mission of the family.
This transforms how we live at home. Our households are not just places of shelter—they are places of sending. Do our children see us trusting Jesus when life is unclear? Do they see us living with purpose, praying with authority, acting with conviction? Or do they see anxiety, control, and hesitation?
Jesus is inviting us into something deeper than comfort—into communion and commission. “Surrendered souls stop striving and start stepping.” This is where peace and power meet.
Today, choose surrender over striving. Trust Him not because you understand everything, but because you know Him. Parents, lead boldly. Build homes anchored in Christ. Pray over your children by name. Walk as people who know the Way, live the Truth, and carry the Life.
“Jesus said: ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me’ (Jn 14:6). Jesus is the unique mediator between God and men.” (CCC 480)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: What am I still trying to control instead of surrendering to Jesus?
In My Home: How can we more intentionally build a home rooted in trust, peace, and purpose in Christ?
In My World: Where is Jesus calling me to step forward in faith, even without full clarity?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around … share one thing that has been troubling your heart.
Then pray together as a family. Lay hands on each person and pray over them by name:
“Jesus, You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Lead [Name] today. Calm their heart. Remove every fear and every lie. Give them courage to trust You, strength to follow You, and joy in knowing they are never alone.”
Pray for deep trust in God’s love, freedom from anxiety and control, strength to follow Jesus faithfully, and joyful confidence in living the Gospel each day.
Daily Challenge: Surrender one specific worry to Jesus today—and act in faith instead of fear.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
