GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
You are not unheard. I see your persistence, I treasure your faith, and I am working even when you cannot see.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Luke 18:1-8
Jesus told his disciples a parable
about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary.
He said, “There was a judge in a certain town
who neither feared God nor respected any human being.
And a widow in that town used to come to him and say,
‘Render a just decision for me against my adversary.’
For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought,
‘While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being,
because this widow keeps bothering me
I shall deliver a just decision for her
lest she finally come and strike me.’”
The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says.
Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones
who call out to him day and night?
Will he be slow to answer them?
I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily.
But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
Faith isn’t proven by how fast God answers—but by how long we keep asking.
Jesus tells a story only He could tell: a powerless widow confronting a corrupt judge. In the ancient world, widows had no legal standing, no protection, and no power. Yet this woman refuses to stop. Day after day, she pleads, demands, perseveres. The Greek verb erkhesthai—“she kept coming”—describes relentless motion. She refuses to be silenced.
This parable isn’t about pestering God until He gives in. It’s about revealing His heart through our persistence. The unjust judge relents only to avoid being worn out. But God is nothing like that judge. Jesus contrasts human reluctance with divine readiness: If even this corrupt man yields, how much more will your Father, who loves you, act on your behalf?
Still, prayer stretches us. It’s easy to pray when results come quickly. But the space between promise and fulfillment is where faith is forged. The widow’s perseverance mirrors the prayer of every parent who has interceded for a child, every believer who has cried out for healing, every heart that refuses to stop hoping when the world says “give up.”
In family life, the temptation is to grow weary—to stop praying because it seems nothing changes. But the Gospel reminds us that every prayer builds an unseen bridge between heaven and earth. God is not delaying out of neglect, but out of mercy, preparing hearts, weaving redemption in ways we can’t yet see.
Parents, teach your children what faith looks like by praying even when you feel nothing. Let them see you on your knees. Speak your prayers aloud for the family to hear—especially when life feels uncertain. Then pray over them by name tonight, asking the Lord to anchor them in faith that never tires, never doubts His goodness, and never ceases to trust His timing.
“Prayer is the life of the new heart. It ought to animate us at every moment.” (CCC 2697)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS

Witness in Waiting: How can your family’s perseverance in prayer become a living testimony to others?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, name one situation or person you’ve been praying for over a long period. Encourage one another to hold the line in faith.
Then pray over one another by name: Lord Jesus, strengthen [Name]’s heart to persevere in prayer. Free [Name] from weariness and doubt. Fill [Name] with faith that trusts Your timing, believes Your goodness, and rejoices even before the answer comes.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
