GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Even the smallest faith in Me bears infinite power—walk in humility and obedience.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Luke 17:5-10
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
The Lord replied,
“If you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you would say to this mulberry tree,
‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
“Who among you would say to your servant
who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field,
‘Come here immediately and take your place at table’?
Would he not rather say to him,
‘Prepare something for me to eat.
Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink.
You may eat and drink when I am finished’?
Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded?
So should it be with you.
When you have done all you have been commanded,
say, ‘We are unprofitable servants;
we have done what we were obliged to do.’”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
Faith is not about magnitude, but surrender.
The apostles ask for more faith, imagining it as a quantity that can be increased like coins in a purse. Jesus explodes their assumption: even a mustard seed, the tiniest of seeds, contains immeasurable potential when entrusted to God. The issue is not size, but authenticity. A small seed surrendered is greater than a thousand seeds hoarded.
Then comes the shocking turn. Jesus follows the image of boundless faith with a lesson on servanthood. After plowing or tending, the servant does not expect reward; he fulfills his duty. Likewise, discipleship is not about earning recognition but about humble obedience. The Kingdom does not run on applause, but on fidelity.
This cuts against modern sensibilities. We crave affirmation, demand thanks, and measure our worth by recognition. Yet Jesus insists: faith blossoms not in seeking credit, but in serving without expectation. The paradox stings: true greatness is not demanding to be seen, but quietly doing what love requires.
In family life, the call is relentless. Parents cook, clean, provide, discipline, and often hear no thanks. Children study, practice, and obey without parades. Spouses carry each other’s burdens in silence. It is tempting to grow resentful, to feel unnoticed. But here lies the hidden power: every unseen act of love is a mustard seed entrusted to God, bearing fruit far beyond what we see.
The domestic church thrives not when every deed is recognized, but when every deed is offered. Parents, your vocation is not to be thanked, but to be faithful. Faith the size of a seed, lived in ordinary obedience, uproots trees of bitterness and plants forests of grace.
Here is the Gospel’s great reversal: In a world drunk on recognition, heaven crowns the hidden faithful.
Parents, model this faith. Serve without complaint, give without demand, love without scoreboard. Then pray over your children by name, asking the Spirit to increase in them the humility to serve and the trust to know that God sees every seed sown.
“Faith is a free assent to the whole truth that God has revealed. But faith is inseparable from hope and charity; it is expressed in obedience to God’s will.” (CCC 1814)

FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one small, hidden act of service someone did for you.
After sharing, each family member should pray over another by name: Lord Jesus, pour out Your grace so that [Name] may know Your deep love personally. Free [Name] from the lie that their worth depends on recognition. Strengthen [Name] to serve with humility and joy. Fill [Name] with the power of faith that moves mountains and uproots bitterness in daily life.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
