GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
You are not abandoned to broken communion. I am in your midst, and I have entrusted you with the grace to seek, to bind, and to loose.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Matthew 18:15-20
Jesus said to his disciples: “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won over your brother. If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, so that ‘every fact may be established on the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church. If he refuses to listen even to the church, then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again, amen, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

GOING DEEPER
The goal is not to win the argument. The goal is to win your brother.
Whom have we gossiped about, avoided, or written off instead of going to first?
Jesus begins with the smallest circle: you and him alone. Not a group text. Not a coalition. Love has the courage to speak face to face. If he listens, something in heaven moves—you have won him. That verb is the heart of the passage. Correction is rescue.
If that fails, the circle widens—not to shame, but to establish truth and protect both souls. Only then the Church. Even the hard line—“treat him as a Gentile or a tax collector”—is not permission to hate. Jesus ate with tax collectors. Distance can be a form of truth, but it is never permission to stop hoping.
Then He gives the household its authority: bind and loose. What is faced in His name on earth is not merely private emotion. And He gives the household its consolation: where two or three gather in His name, He is already there. Reconciliation is not our invention. It is His presence at work among us.
The domestic church is the first place this Gospel is either lived or refused. Spouses either go to one another or go around one another. Parents either speak the fault in love or let bitterness catechize the children. Two or three at a table can become a place of His presence—or a place of silent scorekeeping.
Parents, build saint-forming homes. Pray over your spouse and children by name. Act in the power of the Holy Spirit by going first to the one who has wounded you.
“During his public life Jesus not only forgave sins, but also made plain the effect of this forgiveness: he reintegrated forgiven sinners into the community of the People of God from which sin had alienated or even excluded them. A remarkable sign of this is the fact that Jesus receives sinners at his table, a gesture that expresses in an astonishing way both God’s forgiveness and the return to the bosom of the People of God.” (CCC 1443)

In My Heart: Whom do I need to go to directly, rather than rehearse the fault with someone else?
In My Home: How can we practice truth-telling that aims to win one another, not to win?
In My World: Where is Jesus asking two or three of us to agree in prayer for restored communion?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around …
Share one way your family can repair a small rift this week. Then pray over your spouse and each person by name, asking the Father to deepen their personal knowledge of His love, free them from every lie of the Enemy, strengthen them against temptation, and fill them with joyful, concrete living of the Gospel.
Daily Challenge:
If someone has sinned against you, go to that person first—briefly, directly, and in love.

LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.
