GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Do not be afraid to come to Me with bold trust—your persevering faith opens the door to My saving power.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Mark 7:24-30
Jesus went to the district of Tyre.
He entered a house and wanted no one to know about it,
but he could not escape notice.
Soon a woman whose daughter had an unclean spirit heard about him.
She came and fell at his feet.
The woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by birth,
and she begged him to drive the demon out of her daughter.
He said to her, “Let the children be fed first.
For it is not right to take the food of the children
and throw it to the dogs.”
She replied and said to him,
“Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s scraps.”
Then he said to her, “For saying this, you may go.
The demon has gone out of your daughter.”
When the woman went home, she found the child lying in bed
and the demon gone.
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
Persistent faith refuses silence and draws mercy across every boundary.
Jesus crosses into pagan territory, a place already charged with tension. Tyre is outside Israel, and the woman who approaches Him is doubly distant—both Gentile and female. By every cultural and religious standard, she should not expect access.
Yet she falls at His feet and begs for her daughter. The Greek verb used here conveys repeated pleading, not a single polite request. This is not entitlement; it is desperate, maternal love refusing to let go. Her faith is forged in love, not status.
Jesus’ response is jarring. His words echo the covenant order—Israel first. Yet He is not dismissing her; He is drawing her faith into the open. Her reply reveals astonishing humility and confidence at once. She does not argue her worth; she trusts His abundance.
Her image of scraps under the table is not self-pity but insight. She believes that even the overflow of Jesus’ mercy is more powerful than any demon. Faith like this does not demand explanation—it clings.
The miracle happens at a distance. No touch. No visible sign. Only a word. This teaches parents something essential: intercessory faith matters even when children are absent, resistant, or unaware. A parent’s faith can open doors a child cannot yet open alone.
Faith that kneels endures, listens, and responds. It does not storm heaven with pride but enters boldly with trust. Persistent prayer is not wearing God down; it is aligning our hearts with His mercy.
Build saint-forming homes by persevering in prayer even when answers seem delayed, pray over your children by name with humble confidence, and act in the power of the Holy Spirit, trusting that faithful intercession reaches places you cannot and liberates hearts you cannot yet touch.
“Prayer is a vital necessity. Proof from the contrary is no less convincing: if we do not allow the Spirit to lead us, we fall back into the slavery of sin.” (CCC 2744)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Where is God inviting me to trust Him more deeply through perseverance?
In My Home: How faithfully do we intercede for one another when struggles are unseen or ongoing?
In My World: Who needs me to keep praying for them without giving up?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, name one person or situation you are bringing persistently to Jesus in prayer.
Then pray together aloud. As parents, place a hand on each person and pray over them by name, asking that they know God’s love personally, be freed from the Enemy’s lies, be strengthened to overcome temptation, and be filled with joyful trust in God’s saving power.
Daily Challenge: Choose one person you have grown tired of praying for and commit to lifting them up intentionally each day this week.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
