GOD'S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY

INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Matthew 13:10–17
The disciples approached Jesus and said,
"Why do you speak to the crowd in parables?"
He said to them in reply,
"Because knowledge of the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven
has been granted to you, but to them it has not been granted.
To anyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich;
from anyone who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
This is why I speak to them in parables, because
they look but do not see and hear but do not listen or understand.
Isaiah's prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says:
You shall indeed hear but not understand,
you shall indeed look but never see.
Gross is the heart of this people,
they will hardly hear with their ears,
they have closed their eyes,
lest they see with their eyes
and hear with their ears
and understand with their hearts and be converted
and I heal them.
"But blessed are your eyes, because they see,
and your ears, because they hear.
Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people
longed to see what you see but did not see it,
and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."

GOING DEEPER
Eyes to See, Ears to Hear
Today’s Gospel stings with a paradox. Jesus speaks of truth—but many can’t receive it. He reveals the mysteries of the Kingdom, yet not all can see. Why? Because seeing and hearing in the Kingdom requires more than functioning eyes and ears—it requires a converted heart.
Jesus quotes the prophet Isaiah to describe a people who have become spiritually numb—hearts calloused by pride, distraction, and familiarity. The Greek word He uses for “mysteries” (mysteria) doesn’t mean something unknowable—it means something revealed only through relationship. The truth isn’t hidden from us—it’s hidden for those who are hungry enough to seek.
And this hits close to home. How often do we hear Scripture, attend Mass, or repeat prayers—yet miss what God is actually saying? Not because He’s silent, but because we’re distracted, overfed by noise, or emotionally checked out.
Jesus says we’re blessed if we see and hear. That blessing demands attention, silence, humility, and daily conversion. Not once. Daily.
Parents, your children learn how to see and hear from you. Today, quiet the house. Open the Word. Read the Gospel aloud and ask: “What is Jesus saying to us?” Then pray over them—not with scripted answers, but a real, heartfelt plea: “Jesus, open [name]’s eyes. Let him/her hear You. Let their heart be soft. Speak and move in our home.”
Your job isn’t to force conversion. It’s to create conditions where Jesus is welcome to speak—and hearts are ready to respond.
“Faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes by the preaching of Christ. To see and hear spiritually is a grace that must be cultivated by humility and attentiveness.” (CCC 153–154)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Kingdom Perception: Where in my life have I stopped truly seeing or listening for God’s voice?
Family Formation: How am I helping those in my home tune their hearts to hear the Lord—especially through silence and Scripture?
Hearing to Healing: What’s one area where I need to stop, listen, and let Jesus heal what I’ve closed off?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, sit in silence for just one minute. Then read today’s Gospel slowly aloud. Ask each person to share what stood out. Afterward, pray over your family:
“Jesus, open our ears and eyes. Let us not miss Your voice in the noise. Let [name] hear You clearly. We renounce distraction and spiritual dullness. Speak to us. Heal our hearts. Make us ready for Your Kingdom.”

LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.
