My power is greater than any darkness. Stand with Me, and you will share in My victory.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Luke 11:14–23
Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute,
and when the demon had gone out,
the mute man spoke and the crowds were amazed.
Some of them said, “By the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons,
he drives out demons.”
Others, to test him, asked him for a sign from heaven.
But he knew their thoughts and said to them,
“Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste
and house will fall against house.
And if Satan is divided against himself,
how will his kingdom stand?
For you say that it is by Beelzebul that I drive out demons.
If I, then, drive out demons by Beelzebul,
by whom do your own people drive them out?
Therefore they will be your judges.
But if it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons,
then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.
When a strong man fully armed guards his palace,
his possessions are safe.
But when one stronger than he attacks and overcomes him,
he takes away the armor on which he relied
and distributes the spoils.
Whoever is not with me is against me,
and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
Neutrality with Jesus is an illusion—every heart is moving either toward Him or away from Him.
Where do you truly stand with Christ right now?
The crowd witnesses something undeniable. A man long bound by a demon is suddenly free. His voice returns. The silence of oppression gives way to speech and life. Many marvel. But others do something astonishing: they accuse Jesus of working by the power of the devil.
The human heart has a remarkable capacity to resist what it does not want to accept. Even when grace is visible, pride can reinterpret it as something else.
Jesus answers their accusation with calm clarity. A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. Satan does not undermine his own rule. If demons are being cast out, then a stronger power must be present.
Then comes the decisive phrase: “If it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.”
The phrase “finger of God” echoes the Old Testament. In Exodus, the magicians of Pharaoh used the same phrase when they realized the plagues confronting Egypt were not tricks but divine power. Jesus is declaring that the same authority that once humbled Pharaoh is now at work in Him.
And the implication is unmistakable: the Kingdom of God is not merely coming someday. It is already breaking into the world through Christ.
Jesus then uses a striking image. A strong man guards his palace, confident in his armor and defenses. But when someone stronger arrives, the strong man is overpowered and his possessions are freed.
Jesus is describing what He Himself has come to do. Satan is the “strong man” who has held humanity in bondage through sin and deception. Christ is the stronger one who breaks in, strips away the enemy’s power, and sets captives free.
But freedom requires a response. Jesus closes with a line that leaves no room for comfortable neutrality: “Whoever is not with me is against me.”
In every age people attempt to place Jesus safely on the margins—interesting, admirable, perhaps inspiring, but not authoritative. Yet Jesus refuses that category. The Kingdom demands a decision.
The domestic church becomes the place where that decision is lived daily. Children watch how their parents choose Christ—in prayer, in sacrifice, in moral courage, in the refusal to let the culture quietly shape their priorities. When families live decisively for Christ, the Kingdom of God becomes visible in ordinary homes.
Build saint-forming homes by choosing Christ openly in daily life, pray over your spouse and children in the powerful name of Jesus that every influence of darkness be broken and every heart remain firmly rooted in Him, and remember that the victory of Christ over evil is not abstract—it unfolds through ordinary people who decide to stand with Him.
“The coming of God’s kingdom means the defeat of Satan’s kingdom… If it is by the Spirit of God that Jesus casts out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” (CCC 550)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Where might I be trying to remain “neutral” instead of choosing Christ wholeheartedly?
In My Home: How does our family visibly stand with Jesus in the way we live and pray?
In My World: Where might Christ be calling me to show courage in faith rather than quiet compromise?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one way you have seen God’s power at work in your life or in someone else’s life.
Then gently place your hand on each member of your family and pray over them by name—asking Jesus to protect them from every influence of darkness, strengthen their faith, and fill them with the Holy Spirit so they may stand firmly with Him in every circumstance.
Daily Challenge: Begin your day by making the Sign of the Cross slowly and intentionally, asking Jesus to rule your thoughts, words, and actions today.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10.
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
