GOD'S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
I am trustworthy. My words give life. Believe, and live.
GOSPEL | John 3:31-36
The one who comes from above is above all.
The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things.
But the one who comes from heaven is above all.
He testifies to what he has seen and heard,
but no one accepts his testimony.
Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy.
For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God.
He does not ration his gift of the Spirit.
The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life,
but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God remains upon him.

GOING DEEPER
What does it mean to say that Jesus “does not ration” the Spirit?
Jesus, the One sent from heaven, speaks the very words of God and pours out the Spirit in full measure (John 3:34). In contrast to the prophets who came before Him—who spoke glimpses of God’s will—Jesus reveals the fullness of the Father. This passage reminds us of the centrality of trust: if we believe Jesus, we receive eternal life. If we reject Him, we reject life itself.
The Greek word for “believe” (πιστεύω) implies trust and ongoing commitment. It’s not just mental agreement, but a relational surrender. This is critical in our homes. How often do we operate more like we’re rationing grace than receiving its fullness? Do we live, speak, and act as if the Spirit is truly given without limit?
In your marriage and parenting, are you depending on your own strength—or the Spirit without measure? Are you creating space for Him to speak, guide, convict, and comfort?
Let us not be practical atheists—professing belief, but not living by it. Christ’s invitation is not to a slice of life but the whole of it.
*Catechism Connection: CCC 683 – "No one can say 'Jesus is Lord' except by the Holy Spirit.' Every time we begin to pray to Jesus it is the Holy Spirit who draws us on the way of prayer by his prevenient grace."
LIFE APPLICATION
My trust: Where in your life is God inviting you to trust Him more fully?
Spirit without measure: In what ways can you become more aware of and receptive to the Holy Spirit in your daily interactions with your spouse, children, or others?
Living the words of God: What practical step can you take today to live more intentionally rooted in Jesus’ words?
LIVE IT
Going around, affirm one way you see each person receiving and living by the Holy Spirit. Encourage him/her.

Just as the vertical beam holds up the Cross, undistracted, dedicated daily quiet time with God strengthens every part of life—start with just three minutes, and let Him speak.
PRAYER
LORD JESUS CHRIST, You made me for Yourself—to know You, to love You, and to live for You now and through all eternity. I believe in You. I seek You. I trust in You. Help me Live IT Today. #LiveITToday
