GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
You are never too far gone. My joy is not complete until you are home.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Luke 15:1–10
The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to Jesus,
but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying,
“This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
So Jesus addressed this parable to them.
“What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them
would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it?
And when he does find it,
he sets it on his shoulders with great joy
and, upon his arrival home,
he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them,
‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’
I tell you, in just the same way
there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety-nine righteous people
who have no need of repentance.
“Or what woman having ten coins and losing one
would not light a lamp and sweep the house,
searching carefully until she finds it?
And when she does find it,
she calls together her friends and neighbors
and says to them,
‘Rejoice with me because I have found the coin that I lost.’
In just the same way, I tell you,
there will be rejoicing among the angels of God
over one sinner who repents.”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
God doesn’t just forgive sinners—He goes looking for them.
The scandal of this Gospel is not that sinners exist—it’s that Jesus seeks them out. The Pharisees are furious not because He preaches mercy, but because He eats with the wrong people. In their world, table fellowship was covenant language—sharing a meal meant sharing identity. And here is God Himself, breaking bread with the broken.
The verbs in this passage are relentless: He leaves. He goes. He searches. He finds. He carries. The shepherd doesn’t scold the lost sheep; he shoulders it. The woman doesn’t move on; she lights a lamp and scours every corner. The Greek word for “search carefully” (epimelōs) implies anxious love—a searching that will not stop until what is precious is restored.
This is the heart of God: not a passive tolerance, but an active pursuit. Heaven’s joy erupts not when the perfect stand tall, but when the fallen are lifted up. Jesus doesn’t wait for sinners to come home—He goes out into the wilderness to bring them back Himself.
For families, this parable redefines holiness. The home is not meant to be a museum of spiritual success stories—it is the search party headquarters for God’s mercy. Parents, when your child strays, your patient love mirrors the Shepherd’s endurance. Children, when you forgive your parents or siblings, you echo heaven’s joy. Every act of reconciliation makes visible the Gospel Jesus lived at table with sinners.
Our world confuses being found with being affirmed. But God’s mercy is not indulgence—it is transformation. The one who is found must also be carried home.
“God’s love is stronger than sin and death; it is a love that pursues the sinner to restore him to communion.” (CCC 1848)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Pursued: When have you most felt that God was pursuing you? How did He “find” you in that moment?
Restored: Who in your life might be lost right now? What small act of love could light their way home?
Rejoice: How can your family become a place where people experience the joy of being found—without judgment, but with truth and love?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one story of a time you felt “found” by God’s mercy—perhaps through another person’s forgiveness, an answered prayer, or a moment of peace after struggle.
Then pray over one another by name: Lord Jesus, You never stop searching for [Name]. Thank You for loving us back to life. Make our family a place where the lost are welcomed, the broken are lifted, and Your joy is made complete in us.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
