GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
You are made to burn with My love—a fire that purifies, not destroys; that divides darkness from light, indifference from faith. Let Me set your heart ablaze.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Luke 12:49-53
Jesus said to his disciples:
“I have come to set the earth on fire,
and how I wish it were already blazing!
There is a baptism with which I must be baptized,
and how great is my anguish until it is accomplished!
Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth?
No, I tell you, but rather division.
From now on a household of five will be divided,
three against two and two against three;
a father will be divided against his son
and a son against his father,
a mother against her daughter
and a daughter against her mother,
a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law
and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

GOING DEEPER
Jesus came not to make life easier—but to make hearts alive.
These are among the most startling words of Jesus. The One called “Prince of Peace” declares that He has come to bring fire and division. But this is not the rage of destruction—it’s the fire of divine love, which burns away everything that keeps us from Him. The Greek word for “fire,” pur, gives us the English word pure. Jesus’ mission is to purify—to ignite hearts with the blazing holiness of God.
The “baptism” He speaks of is not water, but the Cross. He burns with anguish not because of fear, but because love cannot be still while sin remains unhealed. Christ’s fire doesn’t scorch the world—it saves it. Yet the truth is, when that fire takes hold, it inevitably divides. Not because Jesus delights in conflict, but because holiness exposes compromise. The fire of love reveals the false peace that comes from avoiding truth.
Every family, every generation faces this test. When Christ becomes the true center, some will rejoice and others resist. The Gospel divides precisely because it calls each of us to choose: comfort or conversion, self or surrender. As C.S. Lewis put it, “God is easy to please, but hard to satisfy.” He loves us too much to leave us half-alive.
Parents, the hardest divisions often appear right at home—between conviction and convenience, prayer and passivity, the Gospel and the world. Don’t mistake quiet for peace. Real peace comes only after the fire—after hearts are refined in truth and love. Tonight, pray over your children by name, asking the Holy Spirit to set them ablaze with the fire of divine love that drives out fear, compromise, and indifference.
“The Holy Spirit, sent by the Father in the name of the Son, purifies the heart and reveals God to those who believe.” (CCC 687)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Holy Fire: What areas of your life need to be purified by the fire of Christ’s love?
False Peace: Where have you settled for comfort instead of truth, or silence instead of witness?
Family Flame: How can your family help one another stay aflame with faith, even when it causes tension or misunderstanding?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, name one area where God may be calling you to take a courageous stand for truth or faith. Discuss how love—not anger—can guide that conviction.
Then pray over one another by name: Lord Jesus, set [Name]’s heart on fire with Your love. Give [Name] courage to speak truth with gentleness and to bear witness with joy. Let our family burn brightly for You, lighting the world around us with Your holy flame.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
