GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
You are mine, and no one can take you from My hand.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | John 10:22-30
The feast of the Dedication was taking place in Jerusalem.
It was winter.
And Jesus walked about in the temple area on the Portico of Solomon.
So the Jews gathered around him and said to him,
“How long are you going to keep us in suspense?
If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
Jesus answered them, “I told you and you do not believe.
The works I do in my Father’s name testify to me.
But you do not believe, because you are not among my sheep.
My sheep hear my voice;
I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
No one can take them out of my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all,
and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand.
The Father and I are one.”

GOING DEEPER
Belonging to Jesus is the only security that cannot be stolen.
Where are you looking for security right now—and is it something that can be taken from you?
The scene is striking: it is winter, and Jesus is walking in the Portico of Solomon during the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah), a celebration of God’s faithfulness in restoring the temple. In the cold, both literal and spiritual, the people demand clarity: “Tell us plainly.” But Jesus reveals the deeper issue—it is not lack of evidence, but lack of belonging.
“You do not believe, because you are not among my sheep.” That is a hard word. Belief is not merely intellectual assent—it is relational alignment. The Greek word for “hear” here is akouō, which means not just to perceive sound, but to heed, to respond, to obey. His sheep don’t just hear—they follow.
This cuts right into our modern lives. We often want certainty without surrender, clarity without commitment. We ask Jesus to “prove Himself,” while resisting the very relationship that would make His voice unmistakable. “Clarity comes through closeness, not curiosity.”
And then comes one of the most powerful promises in all of Scripture: “No one can take them out of my hand.” The image is one of absolute security. In a world of shifting identities, unstable systems, and constant threats, Jesus offers something unshakeable—not circumstances, but belonging. Not control, but communion.
This has everything to do with our homes. Our children are growing up in a world that constantly tells them who they are—based on performance, popularity, or preference. But if they do not first know they belong to Jesus, every other identity will be fragile. The domestic church must become the place where this truth is spoken, lived, and reinforced daily.
And what about us as parents? When fear creeps in—about our kids, our future, our finances—do we live like people held securely in the hand of Christ? Or do we grasp, control, and panic as if everything depends on us? The Shepherd is not absent. The Father is not uncertain. “Secure sheep stand steady in the Shepherd’s stronghold.”
Finally, Jesus declares: “The Father and I are one.” This is not just theology—it is the foundation of our trust. The One holding you is not merely compassionate—He is God. Absolute power, absolute love, absolute fidelity.
Today, live from that place. Reject every lie that you are alone, exposed, or at risk of being lost. You belong to Him. Parents—build homes rooted in that identity. Speak it. Pray it. Model it. Call upon the Name of Jesus and pray over your children by name, anchoring them in the only security that lasts: life in the hands of the Good Shepherd.
“The Church is a sheepfold, the sole and necessary gateway to which is Christ. It is also the flock of which God himself foretold that he would be the shepherd, and whose sheep, even though governed by human shepherds, are unfailingly nourished and led by Christ himself, the Good Shepherd and Prince of Shepherds, who gave his life for his sheep.” (CCC 754)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Do I truly live as someone who belongs securely to Jesus, or am I driven by fear and uncertainty?
In My Home: How can we more intentionally root our family identity in belonging to Christ above all else?
In My World: Who in my life needs to hear and experience the security found only in Jesus?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around … share one place where you’ve recently felt fear, insecurity, or pressure.
Then, as a family, pray together. Lay hands on each person and pray over them by name:
“Jesus, You hold [Name] in Your hand. Let them know they belong to You. Silence every lie that says they are alone or unprotected. Give them courage, peace, and clarity to follow You. Strengthen them to choose what is right and to trust You completely.”
Pray for a deep awareness of God’s love, freedom from fear and lies, strength in temptation, and joyful confidence in living as His sons and daughters.
Daily Challenge: When fear arises today, stop and say aloud: “I am in His hand. No one can take me from Him.”
