As we step into the power of Easter, we proclaim a life-altering truth: resurrection is already unfolding—even where it still feels dark. This week, we feature the Easter Gospel, five powerful insights to help you step into glory, the witness of St. Gemma Galgani, and a deeply moving testimony by Joe Orth of healing and restoration through surrender. A new episode drops every Saturday, setting up the journey for the following week.
GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
I know your tears and I call you by name—come to Me and go proclaim that I am alive.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | John 20:11-18
Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping.
And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb
and saw two angels in white sitting there,
one at the head and one at the feet
where the Body of Jesus had been.
And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”
She said to them, “They have taken my Lord,
and I don’t know where they laid him.”
When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there,
but did not know it was Jesus.
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?
Whom are you looking for?”
She thought it was the gardener and said to him,
“Sir, if you carried him away,
tell me where you laid him,
and I will take him.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary!”
She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,”
which means Teacher.
Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me,
for I have not yet ascended to the Father.
But go to my brothers and tell them,
‘I am going to my Father and your Father,
to my God and your God.’”
Mary went and announced to the disciples,
“I have seen the Lord,”
and then reported what he had told her.
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
Jesus meets us personally in our grief, calls us by name, and sends us as witnesses of His living presence.
Where in your life right now do you need to hear Jesus speak your name personally instead of remaining stuck in confusion or grief?
Mary Magdalene is not rushing. She is not moving like yesterday’s Gospel. She is standing still, weeping. That matters. The Resurrection does not bypass grief—it enters it. The Greek verb used for weeping here, klaíō, implies deep, audible lament, not quiet tears. This is the cry of someone whose entire world has collapsed. Many of us have known moments like that—in marriage struggles, wayward children, financial pressure, hidden wounds. And what does Jesus do? He does not correct her first. He draws near.
Notice that Mary sees angels and still does not understand. She even sees Jesus and does not recognize Him. This is a profound spiritual insight: we can be in the presence of God and still misinterpret reality when our grief or expectations cloud our vision. She assumes He is the gardener. And yet, in a deeper sense, she is not wrong. The risen Christ is the New Adam, the true gardener of the new creation, restoring what was lost in Eden.
Everything changes with one word: “Mary.” This is not generic. This is personal. The Good Shepherd calls His sheep by name. The Resurrection becomes real not when we understand everything, but when we hear Him call us personally. For parents, this is essential. Our children do not need a vague idea of God. They need to encounter the living Jesus who knows them, sees them, and calls them by name through us—through our voice, our prayer, our presence.
Then comes a surprising command: “Stop holding on to me.” Jesus is not rejecting her; He is elevating her. The relationship is changing. He is inviting her to move from clinging to physical presence to living in a deeper communion through the Spirit. This speaks directly to our homes. We cannot control everything, fix everything, or hold everything together by force. We are called to trust, to release, and to send—just as Mary is sent to proclaim, “I have seen the Lord.”
In the domestic church, this becomes very concrete. We are forming children not to depend on us forever, but to know Jesus personally. When we pray with them, speak truth over them, and model surrender in our own struggles, we help them hear His voice. When we cling too tightly—trying to manage outcomes, shield every hardship, or control their path—we can unintentionally block the deeper work God wants to do in their hearts.
Parents, let this Gospel reshape your home. Create a space where each child knows they are seen and called by name. Speak their identity in Christ. Let them hear you call on the name of Jesus with authority and tenderness. And do not hold on in fear—release them into His mission. Build a saint-forming home where each person can say, with conviction, “I have seen the Lord,” because they have encountered Him in you and through you.
“By virtue of the sacrament of Matrimony, parents receive the responsibility and privilege of evangelizing their children. Parents should initiate their children at an early age into the mysteries of the faith of which they are the ‘first heralds’ for their children.” (CCC 2225)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Where am I clinging in fear instead of listening for Jesus calling me by name?
In My Home: How can we help each person in our family personally encounter Jesus, not just know about Him?
In My World: Who needs to hear my simple, honest witness: “I have seen the Lord”?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, have each person share a moment when they felt truly seen, known, or loved—and a moment when they felt overlooked or misunderstood.
Then pray aloud as a family. Pray over each person by name. Ask Jesus to reveal His personal love to each heart. Renounce every lie of the Enemy that says they are unseen, unloved, or forgotten. Pray for freedom from confusion and grief, strength to trust Him, and courage to live as witnesses of His presence in everyday life.
Daily Challenge: Each parent today speak a personal word of identity and blessing over each child by name, affirming who they are in Christ.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING

In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
