GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
Nothing you surrender for My Name is lost; I can do what is impossible for you.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Matthew 19:23-30
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Amen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich
to enter the Kingdom of heaven.
Again I say to you,
it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle
than for one who is rich to enter the Kingdom of God.”
When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said,
“Who then can be saved?”
Jesus looked at them and said,
“For men this is impossible,
but for God all things are possible.”
Then Peter said to him in reply,
“We have given up everything and followed you.
What will there be for us?”
Jesus said to them, “Amen, I say to you
that you who have followed me, in the new age,
when the Son of Man is seated on his throne of glory,
will yourselves sit on twelve thrones,
judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters
or father or mother or children or lands
for the sake of my name will receive a hundred times more,
and will inherit eternal life.
But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.”
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
The Kingdom is not secured by what we can hold onto, but received through the God for whom all things are possible.
Where have you begun looking to your resources, achievements, or plans for the security that belongs to God alone?
The disciples are astonished by Jesus’ words because wealth was often viewed in their world as a sign of God’s favor. If even the rich—those assumed to be blessed—find it difficult to enter the Kingdom, they wonder, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus’ answer dismantles every illusion of self-salvation: “For men this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”
The camel and the needle are not a puzzle to be solved by finding a tiny gate in Jerusalem. Jesus is using deliberately startling imagery. A camel was the largest familiar animal in the region; a needle’s eye was among the smallest openings. He is making the point unmistakable: none of us can force our way into Heaven through wealth, morality, effort, or status.
Riches are not only money. We can become rich in competence, reputation, information, influence, comfort, or the confidence that we can manage life without asking much of God. These things may be gifts, but they become spiritual danger when they persuade us that we are self-sufficient. What we trust more than God will always disappoint us.
This is especially important in the domestic church. We want to provide well for our families, educate our children, make wise plans, and work diligently. These are good and holy responsibilities. But our children also need to see that our ultimate confidence is not in the account balance, the college plan, the diagnosis, the election, or our ability to control the future. We plan responsibly; we trust radically.
Peter then asks a question many of us silently carry: “What will there be for us?” Jesus does not shame him for it. He assures the disciples that every sacrifice offered for His Name is gathered into an eternal abundance. The hundredfold is not a transaction or prosperity formula. It is the new family, freedom, joy, and eternal inheritance received by those who put Christ first.
The Enemy whispers that following Jesus will make us lose too much. Jesus promises that a surrendered life is not an impoverished life. It is the only life spacious enough for eternity. The first may become last and the last first because the Kingdom does not run on the world’s ladder. God exalts the humble, receives the dependent, and makes saints from those who place their whole lives in His hands.
Build saint-forming homes; pray over your children by name; act in the power of the Holy Spirit by trusting God with the one area of life that seems impossible today.
The Lord grieves over the rich, because they find their consolation in the abundance of goods. “Let the proud seek and love earthly kingdoms, but blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.” Abandonment to the providence of the Father in heaven frees us from anxiety about tomorrow. Trust in God is a preparation for the blessedness of the poor. They shall see God. (CCC, 2547)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: What have I been treating as my source of security apart from God?
In My Home: How can our family practice responsible planning while showing deeper trust in the Father’s providence?
In My World: Where is God inviting me to encourage someone whose circumstances feel impossible?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around … share one situation that feels too large for you to handle alone.
Then pray over each person by name. Ask that each know personally the Father’s care, be freed from every lie of the Enemy that says they must carry life alone, receive strength to overcome temptation, and be filled with joyful confidence that all things are possible with God.
Daily Challenge: Name one “impossible” situation aloud today, then entrust it specifically to God in prayer.
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
