INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Luke 21:5–11
While some people were speaking about
how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings,
Jesus said, “All that you see here—
the days will come when there will not be left
a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.”
Then they asked him,
“Teacher, when will this happen?
And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?”
He answered,
“See that you not be deceived,
for many will come in my name, saying,
‘I am he,’ and ‘The time has come.’
Do not follow them!
When you hear of wars and insurrections,
do not be terrified; for such things must happen first,
but it will not immediately be the end.”
Then he said to them,
“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues
from place to place;
and awesome sights and mighty signs will come from the sky.”

GOING DEEPER
When everything shakes, hold on to the One who doesn’t
Jesus’ disciples marvel at the grandeur of the Temple—its massive stones, its golden adornments, its sense of permanence. In first-century Judaism, the Temple wasn’t just a building; it was the center of the world, the sign of God’s presence, the anchor of identity. Jesus shocks them by saying that even this will fall. In 70 A.D., it did—every stone toppled, every assumption shattered.
Jesus isn’t trying to frighten His disciples. He’s redirecting their trust. Earthly structures, even the most beautiful and sacred, cannot bear the weight of ultimate security. When we cling to what can be shaken, we live in fear. When we cling to the One who cannot be shaken, we live in freedom.
Jesus then warns them not to be deceived. In Greek, the word for “deceived” is planēthēte—to be led astray, to drift off course. Notice how subtle the danger is. Not violent rebellion. Not dramatic betrayal. Drift. Loss of center. Hearts wandering from the truth without even noticing.
Our world today feels like the very landscape Jesus describes—wars, divisions, upheaval, disasters, chaos. But crisis is not the end of the story. Jesus says plainly: “Do not be terrified.” Fear is the Enemy’s favorite strategy. It paralyzes discernment, stirs confusion, and turns our eyes from God to the storm.
In your home—the domestic church—there are daily moments of shaking: financial pressures, relational tensions, health concerns, exhaustion, emotional weariness, cultural noise pressing in. Families feel these tremors. Children absorb them. Parents carry them quietly. But Jesus does not offer a life without shaking; He offers Himself as the foundation beneath it.
The call today is simple but profound: stay anchored. Stay discerning. Stay awake. Keep your eyes on Christ when everything else feels unstable. Peace is not the absence of turmoil; it is the presence of truth in the midst of it.
Tonight, pray over your spouse and children by name, asking Jesus to silence fear, strengthen discernment, steady their hearts, and anchor your home in His truth. This is how families become sanctuaries of peace in a shaking world.

Where do fear or instability most affect your family right now, and what step can help restore peace?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, each person shares one place where they feel “shaken” or anxious and where they need Jesus to steady them.
Pray over each person by name: Lord Jesus, be the firm foundation beneath ___ today. Silence every fear, correct every deception, and anchor their heart in Your truth. Let Your peace guard our home and guide our steps.
Daily Challenge: Choose one simple act that brings stability to your home today—turning off unhelpful noise, choosing a calm tone, finishing a needed task, or offering reassurance to someone who needs it.

LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.
