GOD’S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
I sent My Son not to condemn you, but to save you—come into My light and live.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | John 3:16–21
God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him will not be condemned,
but whoever does not believe has already been condemned,
because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
And this is the verdict,
that the light came into the world,
but people preferred darkness to light,
because their works were evil.
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light
and does not come toward the light,
so that his works might not be exposed.
But whoever lives the truth comes to the light,
so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.
EVERY DAY QUESTION
What struck you? Challenged you? Inspired you? What questions did it raise?
GOING DEEPER
God’s love is not passive—it actively seeks to save us and draw us into the light.
What part of my life might still be hiding in the darkness rather than living fully in the light?
This Gospel contains perhaps the most quoted verse in all of Scripture—but its depth is often overlooked. “God so loved the world…” The Greek word houtōs means not just “so much,” but “in this way.” God’s love is revealed concretely—He gives His Son.
This is love defined not by feeling, but by action.
And what is the purpose? Not condemnation—but salvation. This overturns a common fear: that God is primarily waiting to judge. Jesus makes it clear—His mission is rescue, restoration, redemption.
But then comes a hard truth.
“The light came into the world, but people preferred darkness.” The issue is not that the light is absent—it is that the human heart often resists it. Why? Because light reveals. It exposes what we would rather keep hidden.
This is where the real battle lies.
The Greek word for truth here, alētheia, implies not just correctness, but unveiled reality. To “live the truth” means to live transparently before God—to allow His light to touch every part of our lives.
In family life, this is essential.
Homes can easily fall into patterns of avoidance—unspoken tensions, hidden struggles, surface-level communication. But the domestic church is meant to be a place of light—where truth is spoken in love, where honesty is safe, where growth is encouraged.
Children learn either to hide—or to bring things into the light—based on what they experience at home.
Do they see parents who admit mistakes? Who ask forgiveness? Who live authentically before God?
Or do they learn to conceal, to manage appearances, to avoid exposure?
Parents, this Gospel calls you to lead your family into the light. Not harsh exposure—but loving truth. Create a home where nothing needs to be hidden, because everything can be brought to God.
And most importantly, pray over your children by name. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to their hearts, to free them from darkness, and to give them courage to live in the light.
God is not waiting to condemn.
He is inviting you—and your family—into freedom.
“In Jesus Christ, God shows forth his love for us by sending his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.” (CCC 458)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
In My Heart: Is there anything I am hiding from God or resisting bringing into His light?
In My Home: How can we create a family culture of honesty, trust, and openness?
In My World: How can I help others encounter the love and light of Christ?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, share one way each person wants to grow in living truthfully and openly.
Then pray together as a family. Parents, place your hands gently on each person and pray over them by name. Ask the Holy Spirit to shine His light into their hearts. Renounce any lies, fear, or hidden darkness. Pray for courage to live in truth, strength to choose what is right, and joy in walking in God’s light.
Daily Challenge: Bring one hidden struggle or concern into the light today—through prayer, conversation, or seeking help.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
