GOD'S DECLARATION TO YOU TODAY
I come into your home to heal, restore, and strengthen you for mission.
INVOCATION
Come, Holy Spirit! Through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, open my heart to hear and receive all that You desire for me. Draw me ever more deeply into the Love and Life of the Blessed Trinity!
GOSPEL | Luke 4:38-44
After Jesus left the synagogue, he entered the house of Simon.
Simon’s mother-in-law was afflicted with a severe fever,
and they interceded with him about her.
He stood over her, rebuked the fever, and it left her.
She got up immediately and waited on them.
At sunset, all who had people sick with various diseases
brought them to him.
He laid his hands on each of them and cured them.
And demons also came out from many, shouting,
“You are the Son of God.”
But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak
because they knew that he was the Christ.
At daybreak, Jesus left and went to a deserted place.
The crowds went looking for him,
and when they came to him, they tried to prevent him from leaving them.
But he said to them,
“To the other towns also I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God,
because for this purpose I have been sent.”
And he was preaching in the synagogues of Judea.

GOING DEEPER
Jesus Heals for Mission
Notice the intimacy of this scene. Jesus enters Simon’s home. His mother-in-law is gravely ill, and they ask Jesus to help her. He rebukes the fever, and she immediately rises—not just restored, but ready to serve. Healing is never an end in itself; it is always for mission.
In the ancient world, fevers were feared as life-threatening and often seen as spiritual oppression. Luke the physician carefully notes the authority of Jesus to rebuke even illness. The Greek word epitimaō (“rebuke”) is the same used when He silences demons. In Christ, both sickness and spiritual oppression bow before His authority.
Parents, we must welcome Jesus into the “domestic church” of our homes just as Simon did. When we invite Him in, He brings healing—of body, of soul, of relationships. But this healing is never just for comfort. It is so that we can rise and serve: to make our homes places where His Kingdom is proclaimed in love and joy.
This means praying over our children by name, especially when they are “burning” with struggles, temptations, or wounds. We must claim the authority of Christ in our homes, intercede for one another, and live healed lives as witnesses to His Kingdom.
“Heal the sick! … The Lord made his own the misery of the sick, and he identifies himself with them” (CCC 1506)
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Healing and Service: Where has Jesus brought healing in my life, and how am I using it for service?
Domestic Church: How can I invite Jesus more concretely into the ordinary life of my home?
Mission Forward: What does it mean for me and my family to be “sent” with the Good News today?
FAMILY LIVE IT
Make some time today to gather together and, going around, each person share an area where they desire Jesus’ healing—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual.
Then pray over each person by name:
“Lord Jesus, come into [Name]’s life and bring Your healing. Rebuke every affliction, silence every lie of the Enemy, and flood them with Your Spirit. Raise them up to know Your love deeply, to walk in freedom, and to serve joyfully in Your mission today.”
DAILY PARENT & GRANDPARENT BLESSING
LORD JESUS CHRIST, let Your holy anointing be upon each of our children, grandchildren, and godchildren this day and week, including all to whom they are called in vocation, and all future generations! In Your Sacred Name we claim them for You! We renounce all whispers, lies, and influences of the Enemy! We pray right now that each know Your loving Presence, be forged in virtue, and be flooded with an abundance of Your Holy Spirit to live fully their identity and mission in You now and through all eternity, through the intercession of our Blessed Mother! Amen.

GOING VERTICAL
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Just as the vertical beam upholds the horizontal beam of the Cross, so too does undistracted, dedicated daily turning to God as our lifeblood uphold and strengthen every part of life. Start with just three minutes. Wait patiently for the breakthrough beyond the noise. Let Him speak.
